Thumbs up Glass roof

Ok, I'm going with my initial feeling. I am getting the glass roof!
Thanks for all the feedback!

I had just ordered a GT Silver 991 with the painted sunroof. Spouse insisted on a "moonroof" reminding me we live in Oregon so it looks like I am getting a 2-tone Porsche! Thioughts.....

I think the darker top will give a nice contrast.

it would be great if they offered a glass sunroof with the front and back parts of the roof in body colour rather than black

that provides an option of having only the dark glass panel for light coloured cars

not a fan of whole roof black on lighter cars .. looks like some after market wrap

Off topic (sorry), but is that DBM TSpyder? I'm struggling with identifying the difference between Aqua Blue and DBM in photos...

Think it looks great and never hurts to have the extra light in the cabin. Miss my Targa!

I was at the dealer a few days ago and saw a silver with moonroof. It has a few very light scratches, even sitting in the showroom. Not sure if it is that "soft" but I would consider clear bra etc, if I were getting one.

Took my new car out for a spin this morning & boy I am glad that I held out for the glass roof. It makes the cabin feel so spacious with the light pouring in. Oh what a feeling!

Yes, I have a DBM 991. I love the color in bright sunlight where it really comes alive. At night, or even in the garage, the color is rather a flat dark blue, making the glass sunroof hardly noticeable. I actually prefer the glass s/r on lighter colored cars.

Here's my DBM in the Zuffenhausen delivery hall..

You have to look twice to tell that it's not black. OTOH, the Aqua Blue cars are easily seen to be blue in any light.

I was thinking the same thing. If they painted the areas around the roof to match the car it would look much better on a lighter color.

You're concerned that Porsche is still using a sunroof design/mechanism from a car that came out 31 years ago and was discontinued 23 years ago?

The glass sunroof gives almost 100% more view of the sky than the opened steel sunroof does.

Glass roof closed:

Steel roof fully opened:

Wow nice comparison pictures.

I think the perception that the panel does not open all the way is created by the large aperture in the roof that people expect to fully open.
