Default AC question....need to know if normal

Every time I start my car the AC comes on. Even after I turn off the AC and then turn off the car, the next time I start it the AC is on at the previous setting. Dealership says that's normal and I'm not convinced. Please chime in

It's normal; irritatingly so, but seems to be the default (un-alterable) setting.

Mine stays off (or on) ... are you in "auto" mode perhaps?

Mine also stays off if I left it off. I have not done any personalization of the AC system in the PCM menu but there may an option in there.

Is it possible that it is a key memory setting you have set?

Perhaps the OP is not located in NA. Note that post #2 is from someone in the UK.

I'm in Texas. I have a 2013 S cab. It's an annoying issue because I usually drive it with the top down then notice the AC is on. I can't find any setting to stop this

Ok, so much for the "only outside NA" idea

Anyway, mine remains in the prior position when the car is restarted.

I had the same reaction when they told me the engine was in the rear of the car. I still don't believe it.

Being in Texas you won't think it's annoying starting in about late May. Top will stay up and AC on from June to mid October.

You can stretch it a little if you have the top down and cold air blowing into the footwell, but once temps get into the 90s don't make yourself miserable.

If you have the 14 or 18 way electric seats with memory you should be able to store your a/c settings.

Just about everything else is remembered by key memory settings but whenever the car is started it defaults to "mono" at lowest fan position. 2013 Carrera cab, dealer said it's normal.

My AC settings are remembered so when the car is unlocked everything is set to how I want it. The only thing that isn't remembered is the TFT dash screen which always defaults to the radio display. Odd?
