Them's fightin' words! Everything else on the car that's Aluminum Look is, in fact, aluminum. SOLID aluminum. What evidence do you have this is painted plastic?

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?! Its plastic?? This one is solid billet, but the worst misspelling of PORSCHE ever!

Okay well at least that's $169 I do not need to spend!
Thanks, Hammer

"For the Mav, "the best colors are the ones that require the least maintenance" is true, but for another there simply will never be anything to equal the mirror gleam of black- and that feeling is worth every minute it takes to maintain it. Its wonderful all these choices."
I agree Chuck (and not just because I am picking up my new black C4S today!)
It brings to mind an experience I had when I was invited to a 4 day rally with a very exclusive group just after I had purchased my first 911...a guards red 1991 C4 Cab back in 2005. I worked hard to polish it up and get it as perfect as possible for the rally. About 40 cars in the group, an incredible assortment of stuff...Ferraris, Ford GTs, McLarens, rare Porsches, and on and on. My car was clearly the most humble ride in the bunch. And the people...turns out the average net worth among the group (me excluded!!!) was about $100mm. Fearing the worst, it turns out the group as a whole couldn't have been any nicer. Sensing my being a little sheepish about where my car stood in comparison to all the other hardware on the tour, the organizer of the rally summed up the demeanor of the group like this. He said, "You know what is nice about this group? If you love your car, they love your car."
Kind of how it feels to me on this forum, which is very cool.

As long as we're talking colors, the latest Panorama had an article about Dario Franchitti's modded 1973 911, custom painted Signal Red, apparently a standard Porsche color from 1955-1965. Looks great in the pictures. Just curious if anyone knows the difference between Signal Red and Guards Red.

They brought the same car back the next year, tried something other than the Griot's they had used to such stunning effect the first year, and while it still looked fantastic it was nowhere near the Galactic Awesomeness they had achieved that first time. So black is the double-edged sword gold standard of colors. If yours was gleaming- and I'm sure it was- then no wonder all those millionaires showed their appreciation. On top of everything else it they probably also know its YOU and not some hired help that made it look that good.

This looks best in 3D with the night time mode. Painted Sport Techno's aren't yet available in the US.
But when they are..... http://www.porsche.com/microsite/por...e/?c=/PDS16B54

I've ordered white with black interior, just seems to me to be the classy option, but I love the silver too.
Question: The blue in the 911 brochure and web-site http://www.porsche.com/usa/models/911/911-carrera-s/ is it the dark blue or the aqua blue? (Seems too light to be the dark blue and too "dull" to be the aqua), and does that colour look as good in the flesh as it does on the web-site and brochure?
I'd consider that colour too.
