Price increase in Porsche Carrera models
#17
Almost all contracts say that, however, your order went it with an agreed price and they should honor it.
Take your business elsewhere.
If you don't mind sharing, what's the additional % increase that they're trying to stick you with, and what % discount had you initially agreed to?

You have a contract. This is what i call a mutuality of obligations. If there is no price escalator clause - which incidentally most always give the buyer the option of canceling the contract - it appears from what you have stated that they cannot raise the contract price. If you want pm me and I will review the contract for you - oh, I've practiced law for over 32 years.

I'm glad we're all experts in Dubai law and the Porsche dealers there.
Honestly OP, you need to talk to someone in your city about this, not a bunch of Americans (mostly) on the interweb.

Hmm... Yeah didn't realize you were in Dubai! That (probably) explains the huge discrepancy in deposit and discount amounts. It was a 2.6% increase for the U.S. (and Canada too I believe). And that bulletin I was referring to may have only applied to North America; not sure what kind of price protections Porsche set up for the rest of the world. Sorry OP, but you're gonna have to ask local people!
I would still ask them to show you the bulletin in its entirety, however. Your dealer still sounds pretty shady not notifying you about the price increase until 2 weeks after it has already taken place, and after you've already given them your non-refundable deposit! That doesn't sound right in any country, contract or not!

i live in Dubai As well and when i ordered my previous 2009 caymanS it also mentioned that in the contract.
i know this might sound harsh but in Dubai they can do what they want. the demand for these cars is so high that they feel they can get away with it and they will. You could try reasoning with them but getting the law involved will only make things worse in my opinion.
another big problem is that many have suggested to go to another dealer! there is are only 2 dealers in the UAE for porsche, Al Nabooda(dubai) and Ali and sons(Abu dhabi). So that throws that option out the window.
if you decide not to buy it i think they will refund your 10k as soon as they sell the car. try negotiating with your sales consultant. who are you dealing with over there as I know most of them
