Default Introducing my Guards Red 991 C2S...(special to me)

Gents,

Well at the age of 38 the stars finally aligned (close enough anyway) to allow me to finally buy the car of a young man's dreams. It all started with a special ride given to me by a friend of the family in a Guards Red 911 Carrera way back in 1987. A lifelong fascination began with that exhilarating run to the corner store (we took the long, twisty route there) which I never forgot, and now I can finally say I own one of my own.

It took me awhile to get here. I've just returned to the US after 11 years of living and working abroad, most of that spent carless in Singapore. The last car I bought before this one was a 1997 Honda Prelude Type SH--a superb handling front driver--which was later sold to my roommate the day I left the US. I had the good fortune to visit the Porsche factory and museum in Zuffenhausen while on vacation in 2011, and I vowed to myself that day that I was going to stop messing around and get back to the US and buy one.

Well I did and all I can say is.....WOW! It's everything I hoped for and more. The handling, the power, the sound, the racing heritage and pedigree, and, yes, even the admiring and sometimes envious stares.

It took me awhile to track down the right car with the right performance options, but I'm glad I held out for what I wanted.

Here are the build details:

2012 991 S
Guards Red
Sport PASM
Sport Design Wheel
PSE
PDK
Sport Chrono (loving that sport plus button!!!!)
Premium package
Adjustable 14-way Sport Seats
Full Leather Interior in Black

Ipod Integration
Steel brakes (didn't want CCBs)
No PDCC

Here's a pic of my baby alongside it's Godfather...

Beautiful!

I just finalized my order for a Guards Red/Black 991S coupe that will be delivered in March. I also have a red/black 91 964 just to alter the story slightly....and ok, I'm 39.

Enjoy the car...Nice build.

Thanks, everyone! I'm still on Cloud 9 and driving it every chance I can get.

Sharp, h3ll no we're not old! (My back would argue otherwise though.)

Its beautiful. The platinum (if I'm not mistaken) wheels are a nice touch too.
You are by the way too young to have such an awesome car! But, you know what that means? It means you're young enough to 30 years from now be parking a brand new Guards Red MY 2043 911 next to the other two that appear to be about 30 years apart. And it will be to the 991 as the 991 is to the 911.
Now that will be something to see!

Wow what a great pic. Those two cars are IDENTICAL yet two galaxies apart arent they? Just a wonderful picture. I wish you had taken the car cover off all the way.

seriously, great picture, the wonderful juxtaposition commentary could go on and on.

for me, the obsession started as a young man staring jaw agape at a brand new 1983 sc cabriolet, top down, black on black, roaring by. it didn't hurt that there was a hot blonde in the passenger seat. historically, that model is mediocre at best in the pantheon of 911s, but what did i know back then? regardless i was hooked.... fast forward 30 years (geez, really?), and i've got my own blonde bombshell on the passenger side, and the 991 is on the way. life is about self-fulfilling prophesies, isn't it? but curveballs too: one thing i miscalculated on my first porsche-- i never envisioned that there would be 2 car seats in the back too!

great build CEZ, enjoy!

I really like your taste in cars. Very well configured and twenty years sooner (by age) than I managed my dream car, version 1.0.
