Well, yes, but you can see it took restraint. Notice that Car and Driver's choices always top out at $80k which means the Boxster can make the list, but our favored Carreras cannot. Playboy had the McLaren in the exotic category, and obviously didn't wan't another car north of a hundred grand.
That option list that always staggers reviewers and newbies? Isn't it nice to have a chance to build out cars that match our expensive whims and urgent personal needs, while starting from a foundation that already is good enough to win Car-of-the-Year awards?
" But the real key is its remarkable electronic voodoo. In comfort mode, the ride is buttery smooth, the mileage impressive, the leather ultraluxe. All that’s missing is a dozen oysters on a bed of ice. Switch drive mode to sport plus, stiffen the suspension, lift the spoiler and open the exhaust (all in seconds with a few buttons), and you have a 179-mph racing car that will take all you can give it"
So the car is a Base carrera (even though the 4 or 4S is pictured) and comes with PASM, is base leather ultraluxe??? , Sport Chrono and PSE at the very least... for 93,700 ?????? Or did they just test drive an S and report it as a C2 for convenience sake? It is playboy after all.
But then again, the bunnies don't care if it is a 3.4 or 3.8.. As Gary said, the PSE is what makes women swoon.

"Penetrating analysis" is not precisely the order I'd put those words in while discussing Playboy.

Well not that I would look for them or notice, but just about every auto mag has loved the 911 - several european ones rated it the best - some last year so they are raving about the boxter this year i have to say the boxter S is one sweet car
Yeah everyone notices they conflated several models and options into one short blurb but that's all in a days literary style for Playboy. I didn't let it distract me from their best line:
Considering its entire oeuvre, the Porsche 911 is the greatest sports car of all time, and its new iteration is Playboy’s 2013 Car of the Year.
The mental segue induced by pronouncing "oeuvre" in my head left me thinking of an older, more pure statement of greatness:
I know. Took me 3 hours and $39.95 to get past the Cybergirls and their "Hottest Exotic" aka car **** McLaren MP4-12C (C3PO was taken) until waaaay down at the bottom of the page..... 991 Cabriolet. Needless to say, top down.... tame compared to the McLaren, shamelessly spreading wide open.... oh my... Must remain chaste.... ahh, just the ticket....
