I have not driven one. My salesman talked me out of ordering one - he said I would never get a fraction of the powerkit cost back upon resale or trade-in. Maybe if I kept cars longer. . .

Now the wait until November for a GT3.

Well, so far I think the answer has been no, no one has driven a 991 with the power kit.

Looks like an additional 30hp at wheel so about 36hp at the crank.

That curve is making me want it. I guess I should just kiss my 18K extra goodbye...

It's not really extra $18k in the US as you get Sports Chrono, PSE and the Exhaust Tips with the package I believe (you do in Canada but then it's $21k in Canada. Go figure.

That is a good point, it is still 12K above and beyond the asking price for those options.

I think the Power Kit is good value -- near GT3 power with rear seats. All it needs is 2WD in a wide body.

Anyone willing to wait five years for a GTS isn't really in the market.

Anyone adjusting their order for resale value, hasn't learned the lesson ... "there is no spoon." Resale value is an illusion.

If you want to focus on resale value, buy privately and sell privately -- most (if not all) of the loss on resale value is the profit margin of the dealers. If you resell a Power Kit car privately, you'll get some retained value. And don't be suckered into listening to your enemy (the dealer) tell you the rules of the game. As soon as they take in a highly optioned car having paid no premium for the options, they put it up for sale and extol the value of all those options and jack up the asking price accordingly.
