Getting a White-over-red 911S Coupe in SoCal
#46
20C4S - One question: If you could check, is this the correct line item number (24951) for the BLACK deviating carpet?
24951 Std. carpeting deviating color 710.00
Note that it doesn't say what color and my dealer had made a couple of minor mistakes on the reconfigured build order that I needed to clear up. I just want to be SURE before the build... If you could look at your sticker or order, thanks much.

the option code is correct. they might have to specific it to be black, but black is the standard carpet color.
i left the car at work. had it detailed but the rain is coming. since i have scheduled Monday for clearbra install i might as wait til then. if u wanna check it out in person feel free to come over. now i need to start the interior make over plan - still too much red for me.

Thanks. When they brought it up on the screen, there were about 5 or 6 colors that could be selected. He did select black, but it is kinda wiggy that it doesn't say black on the order.
Really? Stilll too red??? I'm curious about your intended mods.

My Carrera Red interior has deviating black on the dash, door trim, steering wheel and carpet and I love it. For the life of me, I don't understand why Porsche doesn't offer a two tone option as in terracotta. Pics posted in the 997 forum. dave

What color are the wheels on your 997? Gun metal or Meteor Gray Metallic to match the car? I have been thinking of getting my wheels repainted Meteor Gray Metallic to match the car.

Well, build completion has been moved up a bit, now February 5th, not far away really, but far enough to keep me very anxious! Delivery I suppose (another six weeks) puts it to the dealer around March 20th or so to the West Coast (San Diego Port and truck trip to Thousand Oaks). Darned Panama Canal. Well at least it didn't have to go around Cape Horn. The original estimate of delivery was way optimistic, being end of February or beginning of March; I don't know where that came from, because the original completion date I found out subsequently was February 8th.
Also kudos to 20C4S for letting my wife and I (total strangers) see his gorgeous car in his impressive garage. That red leather is SO soft and beautiful. The black carpet really sets the red off nicely. Great choice.

The car is now in the "body shop", therefore construction has begun! Still due to complete next Tuesday, the 5th. Excitement is building for sure.
In other related news, I nailed a 48-month 1.49% loan for the balance of the car after $45K downpayment (about $85K) from a local credit union. Its almost like free money. It only took 30 minutes and a drivers license. So much for tight money!

Car completed yesterday (?). VIN exists. Time for it to take a long train trip from Zuffenhausen to Bremerhaven to prepare for its lengthy ocean cruise to sunny San Diego. Excitement builds yet more...
