Looks good. I did a similar change to my Boxster. The gray Boxster S letters looked so cheap.

I used a hair drier to heat my factory fit badges and they pulled off quite easily. Any main dealer can order the badges for you if you want the original bright finish and they weren't very expensive.

Part numbers are -

991.559.231.01 Logo 911 - 991 Silver
991.559.243.01 Logo "S"

Now that the new boxster is out, you can use the lettering from that.

This rendition literally looks like a cluster. A version not seen too often.
Has anyone else seen this?

Duxsi,
No 991 comes from the factory like that! That is just wrong. I would go back to your dealer and get them to fix it. Where are you based?

No. No Sarcasm. Think it looks great. Although I'm referring to DBYT's car. Not a fan of the PORSCHE letters bunched together on your post. No disrespect. Not sure if that is your car or not. Just my opinion.

DHill,
Many thanks to you that I was able to get it done properly...the measurements you sent were spot on.

No offense taken. The bunched up letters look horrific, but DBYT certainly has a budding career in re-badge business.

hehe seconded!

I like seeing how others do these..am trying to figure out if keeping the shiny lettering or switching to something a bit more gunmetal/matte black would be good. anyway..thanks for the pics guys p.s. I love your cars!!

From my perspective, I think the factory chrome lettering looks best on dark coloured cars because of the contrast. For white and silver cars, I think the lettering done in black or dark grey metallic would look better than factory. It's all about the contrast!

I am begining to see a market for a technology that appears to be just a painted panel in one state, but can be energized to show script or shapes. Optional tail lights, model designations, messages to following cars, data from the lap timer, etc could be displayed. Some could be preprogrammed, others entered via PCS or bluetooth, downloaded from the net, etc. Porsche marketing would have a field day with its virtual cash register at the configurator! BMW would likely add sound effects.
