991.1 2015, yeah installed it last Saturday. Removed it and everything works just fine. It must be a faulty unit. I'm going to return it for a new one I guess. Removed the unit with the top up. Wasn't that hard after all. Thanks guys

Did you install a new hit Joe? How is that working out?

not very... back surgery last year. the car was in my warehouse, 90ish degrees... let's just say it was a miserable hour or so of working on something that had to be done by feel :/

thankfully I had left the usb cable installed and accessible but it was useless. tried turning the unit off but roof still wouldn't work

I haven't sent it back due to being busy. they wanted me to reinstall to see if it had been initially installed incorrectly or so they could do some remote troubleshooting. Had the unit not worked for the first week raising and lowering the top without issue at least 20 times, I might have been willing. now holding the raise or lower button the whole time is rather annoying :/

I installed my unit in June of 2015. No problems since. Cannot imagine not having it.

Love mine. Had it less than a year, no issues, the functionality is great and I can't imagine going back.

No reflection on the unit, but I just disconnected mine. The key FOB was a bit too sensitive for my taste and asking for my top to accidentally bump into something either in the city or at a Cars and Coffee. Prefer to be safe than sorry.

Installed SmartTop early this morning. Maybe a 20 minute self-install. It's a very nice piece of kit for a U.S. cabrio, since we can't open/close the top using the remote without it.

Working flawlessly so far.

+1, very happy with it so far. Works as expected and adds great remote functionality that were missing.

It took less than 10 minutes to install in my targa 4. It works great & I love it... but since I installed it two weeks ago, there have been at least three times when I went into the garage and found the doors locked. When this happens, it resets my car's settings (eliminates the battery charge from the status window, comfort setting for the driver's seat, etc.). Has anyone else experienced this? I almost always have a CTEK battery tender plugged in... could this be contributing to the problem?

if you had the CTEK plugged in before with no problems then it may not be. If you can disconnect the ctek and see if it resets. It sounds like the two combined are pulling too much current and recycling the system. Are the two items on the same wiring line? Surprise it is not blowing a fuse of sort.
