Could not have driven 45 miles to dealer in 1st gear so car trailored!
Update: Problem is faulty pressure switch in gearbox. Part being ordered from Germany as rare fault and no stock part in UK! Will take 5 days for part to arrive then few days to fix.
In view of this Porsche Centre have offered to lend me another new 991 until mine fixed! Not as high spec as mine but obviously better than a C class!

Have driven the loaner 991S Coupe today and very interesting to compare the non-PDCC PASM version to my PDCC PASM car. Just driven on normal roads and fast country lanes etc. PDCC car is definitely more comfortable and feels more planted and glued to road!

Update: dealer phoned today after further contact with Porsche Technical director in Germany. Apparently only 3 other 991s in the world have had this fault! It is a software glitch related to the "brain" in the PDK box that learns your driving style in the run in period. A reboot has corrected the problem without recurrence in the other cars. It is not a sensor as originally thought.
So my car has been rebooted and ready for pick up tomorrow. Thank God it hasn't got to be ripped apart! Can't wait to get it back!

This seems like a bad idea -- my driving style during the break-in period is nothing like it will be afterwards. Anything the gearbox controller 'learns' in the first 2000 miles will be completely irrelevant to the rest of the car's service life, if I follow the manufacturer's instructions.
