Installed Radar Detector on a 991 a problem

None of the sites said it would effect a 30 foot shot. They also indicate the Escort unit is not the best. So I agree with everything you said. I pulled the trigger on a unit today. I won't mention names so you don't consider me a shill. They are not 100% but for many situations they work. I find driving the Porsche brings me back to my youth, meaning common sense gets a little sketchy so I will invest in a little insurance.

I have Laser Interceptors installed on two cars and they have saved me numerous times. When I purchased them, they were amongst the best performing laser diffusers in comparison tests that I found at the time.

Holminator: Yes, 2 posts dear sir. Hundreds on other manufacturer forums as appropriate for cars that I own now or have owned in the past. I just ordered a 2013 C2S Cab and only recently joined this forum. You strike me as an obnoxious man. I've got better things to do with my time than to recount specific "saves" in this tread, let alone to engage in senseless banter with you.
All Others: Rest assured that the LI product works very well! Happy speeding!

Willpowers, with only three posts and an amazingly generic nom de guerre, you hit the nail on the head, sir. I am almost as bad as bin Ladin and you are a saint for pointing it out. Albeit many Internet users might say you are an Internet bully, I don't, but many say I am too old and stupid to know better. Whatever. I'm sure you will fair well in a successful life with such good interpersonal skills. I will reexamine myself. I thank you, sir. Regarding your estimate as my status as a man, have you considered that I might be a woman? Hmmm. I bid you adieu as I must return to clubbing baby seals, womanizing like Hank Moody, expressing my opinion on the Internet like you (which apparently makes your anus switch), and sleeping with my sister even if as a result of a "clerical error," prior to my appearance on Jerry Springer tomorrow. Congrats on your C2 order. Look forward to the pics and your fourth potentially hostile communique about people and cars. It's an awesome vehicle we must admit. Best wishes and Merry Christmas, sir.

I have the escort 9500ci in my truck which we use for cross country trips. The system has been great as a radar detector, but as i noted beforre, i did get hit with a laser in Texas and the system didnt even alert me, let alone block it.
When i upgrade from my escort IX in my Porsche i will probably go with the escort CI but pair it (if possible) with the laser interceptor product which seems to be the blocker of choice

It is the same unit less the laser.

I am adding the Laser Interceptor Quad to the Belltronics unit. I am also going with a Radar Mirror because I want a real clean install.
I sent the mirror out and ordered the LI system. It may take a while to get it all in. I am going to have the Dealer install the factory sport exhaust and I want them to install the real LI units while the bumper is off, we will see how that goes.

In that case you really want to go with the BELTRONICS STiR Plus
It is the same unit less the laser.

Would love to see how the mirror turns out

Me too if I ever find any reliable test data and laser jamming/shifting. I mean if jamming a laser signal is so effective, why have I not seen it in a military/warfare context in 24 years? Look forward to the pictures nevertheless.
Maybe $40 million dollars later and a bunch of R&D and perhaps the capability will exist: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2007/0...ammer_070511a/. Just looking at the big picture here. Sorry.

Holminator,
Tone it down? Really?! If you do, fair warning my friend. I will be majorly peeved. Your wit, and occasional pearl of wisdom makes my day. I look forward to it as much as my morning cup of joe and sporadic pickle tickle to the mrs. Keep up the good work comrade!

I can tell you with absolutely and complete certainty that blocker/jammer technology is highly effective if used correctly. I have installed the Laser Interceptor product on my last three cars and they have saved me many times over. I live in Northern California and laser is widely used by the CHP.....
