Where do these salespeople come from???
These cars start at ~ $97k and can balloon to almost $150k with every possible option.

If you have a budget, get the options that you're comfortable with in your range, and enjoy your car.
We all have options that we NEVER use. My sunroof is hardly ever used and the rattles in the headliner don't help. My Keyless remote entry is more fluff than practical with the dummy key. Folding mirrors nice, but not really used.. and so the list goes on.

However, the PSE (Sport Exhaust) is the only thing I would absolutely recommend - the sound is a symphony for the soul....

I would get the sunroof. The other option would be the sport wheel with the paddles. I would think of nixing the 20's if you are thinking of cost.

Resale value? You know, when you buy a $100K plus car, reducing the options you want to (slightly) increase the resale value seems rather silly. If you really want to get a great "resale price," don't buy the car. Otherwise, get what YOU want, not what you think the next person to own it will want.

Have you considered looking for a pre-owned. No material change btwn 2012 and 2013
You can probably get a great deal with a 15-20% discount.. Just a thought.

been keeping an eye on the porsche inventory daily, but still haven't found my requirement of white body with black interior and PDK. not as common as you'd think, or just very low inventory at the moment with the 991, this goes for both base and S models

+1

I'm done with resale value, otherwise I always end up with BMW/MBZ.

IMHO, ordering a PDK without Sport Chrono is like ordering an ice cream sundae with just the ice cream.
