Silver. There's something vintage and elegant about silver with any color interior.

After seeing ZMoney's car, yellow with the standard silver wheels, I think that looks best. The black wheels scream even louder...but maybe that is what you really want...go for it.

Thanks for the compliment Clembo. I appreciate it. I ordered the racing yellow without having ever seen it in person and I am beyond impressed.

Zmoney's car is proof that you can't go "wrong" with yellow. It is not loud or garish in any way. Looks like Sport PASM- perfect stance- especially against in that first pic a green field with the yellow line underscoring the car. Great pic!!

Very nice!! All the world needed was another silver 911....

The first thing that came to my mind here for vintage and elegant was one of my Grandma's crocheted tablecloths!

Seriously though, silver is a nice color, but just way too common in the whole automotive world now. If you do go with it, at least kick it up a notch with a non-black interior. Silver on red is outstanding, and the Yachting blue interior would look really nice as does Espresso.

A quick study of my dealers lot this weekend showed about 8 out of every used 911s are silver or grey,....and while they do sell, anytime a red, black, blue or yellow show up they are usually gone much quicker.

Personally, I would go for yellow but it gets a LOT of attention. Maybe too much

This such a personal dilemma, go with your heart, not your mind. Sports cars are a passion and the soul should win out. For me, passion of youth have been white cars, so my 991 will be white with black interior and platinum wheels.

Let's face it, it's a 100K+ sports car. It's going to get attention. But yellow probably does attract more attention I suppose.
For instance, today I was pulled over by a state sheriff (my Escort and my eyes saw him far in advance) while driving 50mph in a 55. He pulled me over (light bar on and siren as well) to tell me he loved my car.
Thanks for the comment and analysis Chuck, you are correct I do have the sport PASM, really love how low it sits and the aggressive look.

Are there any police where you live? Other than that consideration, get what you like. Why care about resale in seven years, there are a bazillion things that will affect the car's value that have zero to do with color. If you are an investor you know this is so. Unless I regain my senses, I will be selling my 991 in order to order one for Euro delivery. I will order a PTS Baltic blue, like my 89' turbo cab, but with full espresso interior. As a coupe this would look terrific, but I want a cab and can't figure out what color top. There are no color to sample cab tops. Whatever you do, don't read the thread here about custom ordering by Z356. Saludo has taken a great deal of time to explain the labyrinth of ordering a non-standard
car. Reading this thread will put your portfolio in jeopardy...just sayin'. I couldn't manage retiring until 64, that you have managed to do so at your age indicates you have better sense than I. While you're not a real old guy like I, you're still old. Get what you want and let your heirs deal with it.

I guess it's a choice of a black, brown or blue top ..

Black is the safest, especially if your wheels are going to be black.

otherwise, blue ..

brown top might clash with baltic blue

very hard to match.

When I was selling my '06 Speed yellow cab back in 2009, the dealer told me they would offer me extra $3000 if my car was silver/ black. So, by paying an extra $2.7 a day, I got to enjoy the car with the color I really wanted.
