If I had a dollar or two for every time a P-friend has told me I need to get rid of the oranges... I could pay for the clear lights. Maybe I'll change my story and tell them I am decorated for Halloween.

OH THE PRESSURE!

hehe..well if I exacerbated the situation, my apologies friend...I actually don't know anyone from a car forum out in the world so no one has ever mentioned them to me. I guess I'm not pioneering anything, lol! I do like how they look The orange are great too, hey these are high class problems you know? I thank the power above for these kind of wonderful problems. We are blessed friend.

I agree to that every time I get in, and every time I get out, and holy something just pops out every time I exceed about 6000 rpm!

Great looking car ....I love the 7 sp MT. PDK just felt like I was missing something when I was deciding which to go with. I also agree its a much better ride than my S5 and CLK 55. Congrats!

I live up in the Pacific Northwest - this time I am prepared, finally got some winter tires. Michelin Pilot Alpin 4's. Two little fronts and two big rears, lol..gotta love it. Waiting on a
floor jack floor jack
from amazon and realized I didn't have a current
Torque Wrench Torque Wrench
. Looking forward to finally changing my own wheels. Everyone at the Porsche dealership was remarking on how these tires are more aggressively treaded than they had seen before..the consensus is that winter will be a lot of fun

You know we don't get a lot of snow days here (I'm in Redmond) so you'll need to be careful with those tires. Winter tires have lots of sipes (the squiggly little cuts in the tread) designed to squirm so that the edges bite into snow and ice. Spirited driving will round off those edges, reducing grip for when you really need it. Don't mind me, I'm just being a sad-sack out of jealousy at what a terrific set of winter wheels you have!

Thanks for the tip - this is my first winter (performance) tire in quite some time, and posted so I could get info if anyone would offer. I'm taking the Porsche to Mount Baker & Whistler, etc. Can't wait - the snow is already falling up there. (plus wife has tons of family in Vancouver, we'll be making trips up north about once every two weeks at least)

Chuck, do you put on winter tires at all? Not going to the mountains myself and wondering whether I need them - Curious in Seattle.

thats interesting that you would opt for a 2 instead of a 4 when you are doing all that mountain/snow driving. is the MT not available in a 4?

Had an order for a 991 4S ready to put in, and found the perfect 2S. Been driving all-wheel-drives one after another, year after year, and drove a 2009 C4S cab for a while..but this car just..was made to be driven, right now. I can't explain it. It just is meant to be and loving the rear wheel drive with the manual and the cabriolet. It's just a wonderful experience - looking forward to having a lot of fun with it in the slush and snow Got in September, and now 3000 miles plus..this car is just meant to be driven.

A related question might be: how important are winter tires if you do have a C4? Still dangerous to drive without them due to poor traction during braking?
