+1 and given the fact that it's shade inside is not solid, it's a deal breaker for me!

I think it's a part of the tailamp not brake lamp...

cant tell the difference between this and the C2S but looks lovely nonetheless.

IMO, the glass sunroof is terrific and I am absolutely loving it along with the rest of the car. Took it out on a long drive today and it seems with each km I put on, the more I fall in love with it.

The one thing which bothers me is the brake noise as I come to a slow grinding halt. Not sure if this will go away as the car breaks in or I need to take it into the dealer for tuning.

The adaptive cruise control camera/lens looking thing is rather unsightly. It is bad across models. Does it really need to be that big? It is not the Hubble telescope...

Interesting. I cant tell the difference from these pics at all. In the prior gen's (i.e. 996), you can tell but with the 997's on, its really tough to tell.

I have a preliminary deal on the table for a 2012 Anthracite Brown C2S Cab with Espresso Natural leather, very well optioned and with a 7mt sitting at the local dealer who I like, and knows me, they will make a profit but they definitely want to sell me this car. I love the thought of a rear wheel manual for purity with nice options for comfort and tech.

I am really torn if I should wait for the C4S. I'm currently in a 2013 S5 (trading this) but my last Porsche (two months ago) was a 2009 C4S cab. I just had to try the Audi google nav etc. Anyway.

Wow. Torn. I'm getting a decent deal and they are giving me good money on the S5, but that new C4S LED butt is S E X Y as well. Hmmmm. I couldn't afford as much C4S and if I had a 4, I'd probably want the PDK so I could just go nuts with it. Hmmm. How nice is adaptive cruise, I wonder. Have heard it is nice.. but can interfere with radar detector etc. Thx for pics..hmm.

44 mm (1.7 inches) wider than the C2 variants.

From the outside, the styling is almost identical to the rear-wheel drive Carrera models, though in Carrera 4 tradition the rear fenders extend further outwards, adding an additional 22 millimeters of width on either side.

Filling these are wider rear tires, which are 10 millimeters wider than the tires on the rear-wheel drive models.

The new auto double clutch downshift, like that on the Nissan 370Z, should be pretty cool--and I would hope, defeatable. I wonder if that will transfer to all 7-speed manuals cars, or even the new Boxster/Cayman?

US configurator is up. For the C4 variants it was about a $7K upgrade on the 997 over the C2, now it is about $9K.

Now, why do I find this version gorgeous while the C2S seems plain to me?

Regardless, I love it.

I still can't not believe that Atlas Gray is not available at all... at any price... because a 4S in Atlas Gray w/ the lightest gray leather interior would be beautiful.

The hump on the cab makes it look more like a 997, and hence, IMHO, better. The coupe’s rear is still wrong. Wider, but still just so wrong.

Configurator

Hmm..

Base price: $117,530
Price for Equipment: $26,700
Destination Charge: $950
Total Price:*
$145,180

Dang. More than I wanted to spend for sure, but the '12 C2S I'm looking at on the lot right now is 132K sticker.

Assuming a 5-7% discount on the C2S on the lot @ 132K, I'm curious what % of a discount I could hope to get off the C4S order with or without Euro-delivery..assuming cash payment. Hmm.

Probably for the same reason I do - the C4/C4S brings the 991 proportions back to the 993/997 look. IMO, the front of the standard 991 is too wide compared to the rear. Also, with the LED strip, the large mass of body-colored plastic in the rear is reduced. It will look even better with model designation delete. Now, just have to patiently wait for the GTS to get that bodywork with 2WD...

Atlas Gray is my favorite color as well.
