I mean no disrespect to the OP, but the original color selection, and interior look with the wood, looked just like what my wife ordered for her 1997 500SL. Is this an indication that Porsche is succeeding in conquest sales, vis a vie Mercedes, Lexus and Jaguar?

Very good point on matching & ageing of the monotone materials.

I guess the people have spoken and the gereral consensus is on the yellow/black combo... perhaps I'd just say "screw practicality" and go for it

Well, I am offended by the term conquest sale I wont be caught dead in a merc or lexus (some Jags I can accept). The way I see it, there is no shame in breaking a bit of convention even if it's Porsche's, coming to terms with the fact that the 991 is now closer to a GT then it ever was is also not hard for me. Its the same as accepting that as much as I'd love the 993, I know it cant be a convenient daily driver.

I say that if you really like it then do it. The thing that would concern me the most is how it is going to actually look when built. Computers suck at color rendering, and small samples at the dealer might look nice together, but when applied to an actual car might look awful.

Have you seen the Carrera Red interior? I am visiting my brother in Carlsbad, CA and we saw a Silver 991 Cab with Carrera Red interior. It is gorgeous! Most pics of Carrera Red are overexposed and look too red/pink. It is almost a cranberry color and VERY rich looking. If I were ordering a 991 I would order Carrera Red interior.

Yes, the one. While specing stuck to most convenience & cosmetic stuff, here's the list:

Description Code
911 Carrera
Racing Yellow P3
Leather interior in Black AZ
Bi-Xenon headlights in black incl. PDLS XEX
Electric folding exterior mirrors 748
Porsche Entry & Drive 625
ParkAssist (front and rear) 636
Privacy glass (rear & rear side windows) XPL
Deletion of model designation 498
7-speed manual transmission 487
Sports exhaust system 176
20-inch SportDesign wheel 428
Wheels painted in Black XDA
Tire Pressure monitoring system (TPM) 482
Smoking package 583
14-way, electric seats with memory package P06
Centre console trim painted XYG
Interior package painted EER
Seat belts in Racing Yellow XHN
Instrument dials in Racing Yellow XFR
PCM package painted CUF
Seat heating 342
Light design package 630
Car key painted CWK
Automatically dimming inside mirror 276
Seat ventilation 541
Personalised floor mats with leather edging CFX
Lid of storage bin with logo XUV
Multifunction steering wheel 844
Porsche crest embossed on head restraints XSC
Centre tunnel in leather with decorative stitching XHS
BOSE® Surround Sound System 680
Six-disc CD/DVD autochanger 693

I know its sounds silly but I did not want any performance upgrades and gizmos that makes me feel like a better driver than I really am, just pure & plain driving pleasure. I need the body to roll a little bit to know where my limits are etc. And the sports chrono doesnt add much value to the manual 7 speed... and well I find that clock in the middle quite an eye sore too

Thats a great build! it will be one beautiful 991 for sure.
I strongly suggest to consider PASM, never mind the sport setting, it will be a more comfortable ride in the normal setting than with the regular suspension and will look more agressive with the lower 10mm ride height, believe me, its noticeable. worth every penny IMO.

Are you sure the ride is more comfortable than normal setting? Sounds counter intuitive. The other problem is reduced height. I live in a place full of speed humps and will be even more afraid

+1 re:PASM

991 PASM much better than 997 PASM.

I had a 991 C2 Cab with no PASM and standard 19" wheels for a weekend and drove it about 500 miles in Wales's mountain roads. It was mostly fine, but on really crabby roads, it was too unsettled and quite unrefined .. it sort of completely lost its composure. PASM would avoid this.

As you have Porsche Entry & Drive, get the leather key pouch, designed specially for the key. I tried ordering this as a part, and it was a lot more than ordering from factory (£126 vs £77).

Porsche Entry & Drive has a nasty and cheap looking plastic stubby key in the ignition which you use to start the car. Unlike Mercedes' KeylessGo, where you simply press a lovely button. For this reason, I would not spec Porsche Entry & Drive.

Have you considered getting the rear seat belt outlet painted in yellow?

What about painting the lower exterior mirror trim in yellow too? that way, the entire side of the car is yellow.

bear in mind that the center tunnel is already in leather on a full leather interior, so XHS only give you stitching ...

Great tips, going for PASM, will also consider the key pouch and the seatbelt outlet. I like the nice stitching in thecentre panel which is consistent with the rest of the interior. And keyless go thing is just plain convenient.
