In manual mode, PDK is designed to act like a manual transmission as much as possible, up to and including staying in gear all the way to the rev limiter and not shifting unless you tell it otherwise or unless you enter the panic mode that I described earlier. So yes, it is working exactly as intended. You wouldn't expect a MT to shift automatically for you when you forgot, would you?

Lesson learned, had thought it would shift at redline just to protect the drivetrain components (I know that's what the rev limiter does) but it is an automatic after all. Just think, to even better "mimic" the MT, Porsche could have given us a clutch pedal with hydralic feel, now that would be a more realistic approximation of the MT feel

thanks Mike!

It's an auto-manual. Besides, then it would be sooooo much s-l-o-w-e-r.

Just teasing, you're welcome HotLap

If you really want to feel bad put in manual and sport plus. Mine hit the redline and fell off like a ton of bricks. You can get revs recorded in range 1 in this manner. A 997.2 in my case.
