I have been following this thread since its creation, and credit it for my interest in acquiring a PTS 991. Was really sad when Z356 stopped updating it, but am glad that it has since been resurrected...Again, thanks to Z356 for inspiring this thread, and red route 1 for bringing it back to life.
Good luck!

GULF ORANGE
For those of you that might be considering a PTS Orange 991 or 981, please remember that the 'RS Orange' (Code 8C6) is no longer an allowed color choice. Since MY2011, PAG has suggested 'Pastell Orange', code Z17, as an alternative. However, Cy's list has alerted us to the fact that 'Gulf Orange' (code 019) has been approved as a PTS color. This is both unexpected (the similar copyrighted 'Gulf Blue' is still a no-no and was last used on a Carrera GT in '05 or so) and welcomed. 'Gulf Orange' is an awesome color that dates back to the longhood era of the early 911's! Attached are photos of the PTS orange colors offered by PAG today. First is 'Pastell' on a '11 gt3. The second is 'Gulf' Orange' on a late 997S. I strongly recommend 'Gulf Orange' and think its the way to go if any of you are thinking 'Orange'! 'Pastell' is brighter...'Gulf Orange' is deeper and has a much better sounding & historic name!

Eduardo

Z356 - I am purchasing and have sent a couple of emails today trying to find info on my build date. I am willing to wait until Sept if I get the car I built (with Melissa's help). I agree with your suggestion - thanks.

I have now had some conformation that the Porsche Exclusive 2013 991S (Porsche racing green exterior and two tone natural leather of Espresso/Cognac interior) I ordered on 8 Dec will be built sometime in April for a possible June delivery in Virginia.

I can't wait to see this build. I'm looking into something similar with the 981.

Advanced
Here are some photos of a PTS 991 Grigiocampovolo Y99.
I also included a Boxster S with a Deviated Red and Black Interior.
The photos are from Sunset Porsche if you want to see additional photos.
I hope this helps add to the discussion!

And that is another good example of a Frankenstein build, with those mismatching dash colors... I'm surprised the dealership would order it like that, you'd think they'd know better.

I like the exterior color, but agree with ww007, thatinterior example is hideous due to the mismatched soft touch plastic on the dash and steering column. this is exactly what z356 warned about on this thread...buyer beware!

Z356 warned readers of this tread about the dangers of ordering a two tone and getting the dash in two tone. I wanted a two tone interior with Espresso and Cognac. What I ordered, with the help of Porsche Exclusive, was an Espresso interior and then deviated the lower dash, seats (front and back), center front door panels and arm pulls. This ensured that all the dash parts are Espresso. My guess with the above car was to order a red interior and then deviate the dash, etc.
My experience is that normal dealerships DO NOT have the expertise to custom build your car. Sure, they can go thru their configurator but deviating interior colors is difficult, correctly. Read this tread, do your homework, and then contact the Porsche Exclusive rep BEFORE you sign on the dotted line.

Does anyone know if 'Porsche Exclusive' has solve this issue now & allows folks to order true 'black/red' bicolor so that the dash plastic trim pieces on a 991 or 981 are done in black?
