Yes , the only way to get closer to the speed and feeling of a 458 is a 991s with paddle shift. Ferrari got it so right with the 458, I wish there was more loyal support for the 991
When you get right down to it, all is has over the 991 is another 175 HP or so, trick air scoops and exits, a mid engine, and about a heard's worth of buttery soft Italian leather.

If someone offered a heads up trade I would take it in a heartbeat. But I don't know if I could live with it the way I live with my Porsche- which is to drive it and enjoy it all the time (commuting to work and everywhere else). But it sure would be fun to find out!
My friends with Ferraris swear by them, and at them. They are in ecstasy about the performance and the image and in agony about the cost of service. Figure 5k a year for routine service, maybe twice that if they do track days.
Its just $$ at an equivalent step up in proportion to performance I guess.
Agree with all the comments re Ferraris and their service costs, but boy if only Porsche can get their engines to sound like Ferraris, I'd be in heaven!
