At the rate you are going they'll find the Higgs Boson first!

Sounds like the way to go -- looking forward to pics!

8%? That's awesome. Care to share the name of the dealer?

well, today is the day. 3pm. i'll either be driving it home or letting it go and ordering. the dealer just dropped the price more for me to take the car rather than order, but i was incorrect in my figuring. i'm a little over 6.5 off not almost 8. it was 8% on a 124K car. more options to discount. i'll post a photo if its me. my wife thinks i'm nuts considering i bought an almost new (4K miles) 997 in oct. so i'm looking a little flighty here. maybe its fate though as posted above there's speculation the higgs boson was discovered today and that may bode well for me as well!

Is the music I hear in the background Jepordy or Twilight Zone?

Just kidding- you will do the right thing and love the result. And she will love you anyway.

6.5+% off is still very good. I would pull the trigger (and did).

i did. it's coming tomorrow. we ran late today. he's delivering it. that little extra he dropped the price was not so much the dollars but the effort. i've probably exchanged 130 emails with this guy and ended up buying our cayenne from a different dealership. but i like this guy. he came through and other than the chrono package this 991 is just what i want - a blk and tan cab full leather w other stuff i didn't care about like the 20" wheels the power assist, and the bose. but it does have the front and rear parking assist...i guess its meant to be. i have a picture but i'm not sure how to upload pix when they have to come from a url as opposed to just uploading the file. now i'm really getting excited! this is probably a dumb question but i'd just bought a civercraft car cover for the 997...i assume it won't fit the 991. if anyone needs one i only used it once!

Matches the appropriate smile! Looks great. I like the 20s but then again how could I not.

I guess you have to resize the pic at your end before uploading.

ok, i'm home. i'm not sure how to start. i could write pages and i'll answer any questions anyone has, but night and day is the only way i can describe the difference between my 997.2 S cabriolet and this 991 base cab. it's not just a little better in every way. to me its as significant as a going from a classic austin healey to an mbz sl. there will be many people that take offense from that but i'm not comparing vehicles but the gulf between pure sports car and a luxury sports car EXCEPT, the best parts of what make a porsche a porsche are there. but, i'm telling you it's night and day. from just having automatic lights to parking seniors for a car you can see neither the front or the back of...it's an upgrade that when you're spending over 100k you should have. this is bar none the finest car i've ever driven. i'm speechless but i have so much to tell. but for now let me say this. i had my 997 for only 8 months. it was a fully loaded special car that POA gave VIPs to use (eric clapton's phone book was in the PCM) it was a powerful unreal sports car but this is something so far and away beyond....i apologize to all who think porsche has caved to the "older, luxury buyer" of which i guess i'm one...but I LOVE THIS CAR - LOVE!
