Just saw a Corvette on the road. Not even close. Say what you will about the 991's styling, but it's still unmistakably a 911 - a classic shape without a lot of unnecessary lumps, humps, dips, peaks, flame surfacing, etc. Just a smooth, flowing design.
I have owned porsches since 1987 through a C4s 997 Cabriolet (current). I was looking at a 991 in the Porsche Park at Elkhart Lake this past weekend, and it finally dawned on me that there is a strong resemblance between the 991 and the Cheverolet Corvette. I believe it is due to the increase in length and width that gives me the strong resemblance.
To me 911s and Corvettes that look like themselves- strong brands not easily confused with others, and good looking in their own right. I like especially that they convey power and where it is located.
