DIY: Visor Warning Stickers Removal
#61
Did this on all three cars last night. Easy peasy once I realized that the trick is to soak the rag and hold it against the entire sticker for a minute or so. Then it peels off in one sheet. The first one I just rubbed on the alcohol and it came off in pieces.

I am a new 02 Boxster owner and I immediately wanted to remove those obnoxious air bag stickers off of my visors. I have a triple black Boxster and those yellowish stickers stuck out like a neon light. Thanks to this forum I went with isopropyl alcohol and in about 10 minutes I had one sticker removed. Easy peasy. No damage to the vinyl. Just keep resoaking your rag and keep rubbing the IA on the sticker gently and pretty soon they begin to dissolve. Clean up with a typical cleaner (401 or Fantastic) and then apply 303 or Armor-All and you'll love it.

Thanks all for the great info regarding sticker removal!
I removed mine a few days ago from a 2013 C4S with vinyl sun visors, and took a few pictures of the process. I had great luck with the driver's side visor (no leftover residue and the vinyl beneath wasn't too faded), and good luck with the passenger side visor (some leftover residue which I'll try to get off soon).
I soaked a fresh microfiber cloth in 99% isopropyl alcohol, folded it over itself to make the footprint roughly the same size as the sticker, placed it on top of the visor, and bagged with a supermarket vegetable bag (perfect size!). Set a 5 minute timer to re-check that the towel was still moist, and then at 10 minutes I removed it and began to peel.
Take your time peeling! I can't stress that enough. I was able to get both off in one go by peeling very slowly. Once you get a corner up, slowly lift up the vertical side of the sticker, and once you've done that proceed to lift the entire thing. Let the sticker come off naturally with with very light pressure and it shouldn't tear. The sticker itself is very thin plastic, and is likely to tear if you force it to go any faster than it wants to.
I scrubbed off the remaining residue with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth, and then finished with a light coat of 3M 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I just did this procedure today with great results! You only need soak for 2-3 mins BTW, then peel off the label and follow-up with another rub down for any glue and "polish" the surface with microfiber. I used saran wrap on while it soaked. 5 min job per side total. Couldn't be happier!

Did my 991 as well, no issue. Started to do my wife's CD, and after 3-4 minutes of alcohol pressed onto the visor, not one hint of it coming off. Try it another day as I had 3 other car projects on my car to do. Looks so much better now! Thanks for posting the details!

Did mine too, but all of a sudden, the visors looked kinda naked. So, I decided to dress them up a little.

I'm trying to determine if the visors in my car are vinyl or leather. I have the "Natural Leather Interior in Espresso/Cognac." I'm assuming my visors are Vinyl unless explicitly stated as an option on the build sheet (which I don't have listed)?
Want to make sure I use the correct process for my visors without screwing anything up.

I would though I have never actually done it. Therefore, I suggest that you start with a very small corner and see how the Goof Off reacts. I've never seen Goof Off damage anything so I believe you'll be fine.
