As this thread rather again demonstrates the cases for and against PCCBs lead to them being far from a resounding recommendation

To me It's a piece of tech that just does not convincingly and consistently move the game forward

Intriguing That C.J.Ichiban elected to go with iron on his new MP4-12C...(cf.thread on GT3 forum)....me thinks it's not for lack of scratch....(translation $$$)

I have about 68000 miles on my 06 S in which I opted for the PCCBs. It was a great choice. I'm still on my original pads. I haven't even worn through 20% of them. I'm not exactly a wimp when it comes to driving and braking, either. (Ask anyone who's followed me through the S curves). The feel is tremendous, the dust virtually nonexistent, and the maintenance expense virtually nil. I'm estimating a good 200,00 to 250,000 miles on the rotor life. (Your experience may be different).

Just changed rotors, pads and brake lines to SS on my 996 TT. 4 OEM Steel Rotors and 4 sets of Pads from Porsche were under $1,000 ($220/Rotor) I had considered changing to PCCBs since I track the Car prox 12 times per year. Price from Porsche was $20,000 - $5,000 per rotor. Same price buys me 12 Sets of Cup Tires - A new set of racing tires for each track event will lower lap times far more than PCCBs will and rotor replacements won't break the bank. Usually brake fade is more from brake fluid boiling and I have not seen any evidence that PCCBs prevent or alleviate that. Our local 911 Racing Teams such as Brumos continue to use Steel rotors on their Cup cars.
