Default 991 (Inflatable) Spare Wheel

Anyone tried to acquire/fit one of these to their 991?

My dealer salesman says no such part exists but I wondered if anyone on here knows better. Or whether the 996/Boxster spare would fit the C2S. Main issue must be fitting the spare over the front calipers.

There must be some sort of spare tire available as I think some countries require one.

Many here would be interested in a photo of the spare situated in the car. Also, does Porsche suggest where to put the wheel with flat tire after the spare is installed?

I was once told that the tire you take off won't fit in the car. That it has to be tied to the roof. That was with my 997's and their 18 inch wheels, and I assume it's worse for 20 inches(?).

Even the larger rear tire/wheel should fit in the passenger's seat which becomes problematic only if you already have a passenger.....

Guess the passenger could slip into the rear "seats". That would make for a fun ride home.

Ah...things we do [put up with] for love! In 150k+ miles I've "only" had two flats on the highway. Stuck there 4+ hours each time waiting for a tow truck. No spare; good idea....love my 911....

my 993 comes with a plastic bag to put its 18" wheel in the rear seat if you should have to take it off.

The plot thins...

I google "991 spare tire" every few weeks. This popped up last night.

https://www.suncoastparts.com/mm5/me..._Code=991SPARE

Suncoast is a Porsche/Audi/VW dealer in Sarasota, Florida. I hope that bag is strong enough to hold the spare (or regular) tire and wheel in place in a wreck. I hope they don't get sued before I can order one.

I guess there's finally a use for the 911's back seat.

In my last 160k miles, I've had three non-critical punctures (nail/screw stayed in the tire only causing a slow leak) and one rapid deflation due to a defective valve stem. A bunch of bad Chinese valve stems hit hte market a few years ago.

My soccer mom neighbor had two bad valve stems in her SUV. The tire store told her it was due to intense heat, which was in turn due to global warming, hence not their fault.

I will either fix it with a plug kit I carry or call a tow truck. I don't take my car on long trips anyway.
