When open, my sunroof rattles when going over bumps. Is this happening to any of you guys? thanks

 

My 07 rattles. I took it back to the dealer ,they fixed under warrenty.

 

This is why i hate my sunroof. It's never been correctly fixed by the dealer. Swore I would never buy another Carrera with one! The problem is the new glass one is looking good...

 

I do not have this problem. In fact one thing I have noticed about the 991 compared to 997s is the car has no rattles or creaky noises.

 

I too have a rattle. Comes and goes. Doesn't matter if sun roof is open or closed. Its appears to be coming from the area above the passenger sun visor. I'm going to wait awhile before I bug the dealer about it. I can thank my wife for the sun roof as I did not want it and actually deleted it from the order but she got it added to the order at the last minute.

 

It should be any easy fix. I'll also wait, but it is annoying. My 997's were both pretty much rattle free, with a few quirks here and there that would come and go almost, it seemed, on purpose. The 991 seems rock solid....

Pls post after you bring it to the dealer.

 

I have a hard time believing your 997 was rattle free and your 991 is making noises. I have had 3, 997s all have their quirky noises. 991 is TIGHT. Chasing rattles is a witch hunt. Good luck.

 

Just bought a 991 last week, no rattles yet anywhere.

 

I owned 997 and took three trips to Dealer to fix, finally ...just ordered 991 with sunroof and am hoping for rattle mostly free...

 

It's a solid car. And from what I can tell so far, my rattle is an anomaly....and it should be a quick fix. Relax, your 991 will be great!

 

Not the top of the window is it? My windows make a bit of noise and there seem to be a few cars over here with slightly rattly windows. Mine is going in next week for a fix hopefully.

 

I had a new 991, one of the launch vehicles, a Black PDK S, with Sunroof. I have already traded it, not because of the sunroof rattle, which it did have, up in the top corner by passenger visor, but because had two blow out flat Pirellis within 100 miles apart.

Has anyone found a way to fix the rattle? I have the same rattle on my 997. When I gently push up on the inside cover of the sunroof-the portion that doesn't completely retract, the rattle stops. So I'm pretty sure that's the source-just not sure how to fix it. No rattle when closed or tilted. Annoying+++.

 

Dealer finally fixed mine about 4000 miles ago. No noise since. So, they have a fix.

 

i got a 2013 991 in march 2013. around mid-july, the sunroof started rattling when open, mainly on surface streets going over bumps, didn't seem to happen on the freeway. dealer said they'd seen this problem on another 991. they replaced mine, seemed to fix the problem.

however, the rattle returned over the weekend....not sure what to do. rather frustrated by this car. also have a service light that keeps coming on despite no service needed--the only answer the dealer has is to keep resetting it. also had to have the glovebox replaced...
