Downright violent! I hope its not an issue in the next GT3. In the US on tracks we drive with the windows down. In Europe they drive with the windows up. The car is amazing in every other way. I'll try finding that sweet spot with the window up just a tad.
The whole windows down thing at the track is not the way it should be done in modern cars with air bags. The side windows are designed to keep the air bag in the proper protective inflated position. I discussed this at length with a Porsche engineer while at a PSDS event.
When at a Daytona for a DE event a GT3 smacked the wall at the bus stop hard enough to inflate the air bags. Guess what happened?....air bags went out the side windows offering the passengers much much less impact protection.
My issue has been how to communicate this to the people and safety teams that run these DE track events. Any ideas Scott on how to call attention to this issue?
