Has anyone tried the launch mode on the PDK?

i plan to floor it off the lot at 10 miles... did it with past 4 new porsches... they always seem to burn less oil than average and never had any issues... drive it like you normally do, all the time... everything seats in fine!

6,000 miles. PDK launched today for the first time, then did it again. Incredible. And the kick when upshifting to 2nd, and 3rd, was out of this world. May not launch again for a while, but it's really nice to know it's available....

yeah, go for it guys! thats what it is made for.. warranty wont vid unless you did something it's not designed to do. i.e. GTR and taking traction control off while launching.

I think about the computer manipulating that little clutch and can't bring myself to do it any more than I would have sidestepped the clutch at high RPM on any of the older Porsches I have owned. The car picks up speed so fast with a little roll on that I have been totally happy scaring myself that way.

IT is diferent than flooring it you are engaging the clutch on a prerevved engine, just flooring it requires building up the rpms vs "instant" on
This is my 2nd PDK and in the 997.2 I did a few times early and after that it really became a trick that I rarely used. At 1700 miles just did first 991 lauch yesterday after a trip to oak beach cars and coffee here on LI
