991 - technical information
#31
In this thread, there are, at best about two posts that would have made decent threads on their own.
This thread is a damn waste of pinned space and should be deleted.

I would like to:
- Work with Admin to get the linked "Technical Information" thread, currently in GD, moved to the 991 forum
- Unsticky this "Technical Information" thread , and close as redundant
- Sticky the previous GD Technical Information thread in the 991 forum, and work towards curating it with additional Tech info, such as the excellent "Service Information Technik" from the .2 introduction in 2017.
Any comments or questions, please post here.

This morning I took a closer look at this thread. It appears what this actually is is a link to an excellent thread in GD about the intro to the 991 in 2011, which is then followed almost exclusively by posts remarking about the lack of technical information. Which is not, really, ideal.

I searched and cant fine the thread. Can someone send me the thread on recommended tire pressure.Every time I go to the dealer they are pumping up the rears to like 50 PSI and when I have the car in sport mode, it beats the crap out of me and the car.

I believe there is a "comfort setting" listed in the manual. Something like 30/35 F/R
IIRC, mine are at low 30's front, high 30's rear. 32/38?
And yes, every time i'm in for service, even my Indy inflates them high.

For the OP, the correct pressures for street driving are 34/44 or 35/45 if you want a little more precision.
Only on track days, you would want to use lower cold pressures because they would heat up much faster and much more if you’re using ambient air.
