Default Drove a 991 S Coupe today

My dealer got a C2S coupe in today for the Houston Auto Show. My impressions:

Steering - It was great. It had the slightest, and I mean slightest, bit more boost. But better feel at lower speed and no lightness on heavy acceleration.
Ride - The longer wheelbase had all the same sporty feel, but a WAY better ride than my 997 or 996. Noise - It had the same amount of engine noise, but much less tire drone and was all-around a quieter car at cruise. Sunroof - While the interior opening is bigger, not much more is usable than the current one, as the roof doesn't go all the way back. Far less wind noise and drumming at 75 mph. Interior - Better build quality, like the step from the 996 to the 997. Had a great time.

I drove the same car today! I liked it a lot! I agree with your comments but would add that the engine noise, while maybe comparable in level to the 997, is much improved, particularly with respect to the PSE. I had an 09 C2S with PSE, and this 991 sounded much better to me.

It was Porsche of North Houston! The salesman in one of the photos is Rodger Gay.

They had a blue gt3 rs in there last time I took my car in for service.... I think the sticker was close to 170k... Almost the most awesome car I have ever seen... the cf wing was a 12k upgrade.

Usually the sunroof will go to an initial "auto" position, then you have to hold the button down to get it to go to max open position. Did you do that? Maybe it's my imagination but other pics I've seen seem to show the roof open more.

Did you see the GT3RS 4.0 in the showroom today? PTS color "Voodoo Blue" with a sticker of $220,8xx? Nearly $35,000 of options over the $185,000 base price!

The dealership GM told me that it was a launch car with an MSRP of a little over $120,000 (I did not see the actual sticker). They had another 991 C2S in black that had a few less options that he said had a sticker of $112,000 or so.

Hmmm. How is it that all you Texas people are getting test drives and they are not 'arriving' in California until Feb? I better get back to studying my geography.

Hi guys-

New to the forum. I live in Dallas and just stopped by Park Place. Was surprised to see a 991 S is the showroom as I had thought Feb 4 was launch. Not surprising now that people have already driven the car in Houston. I assume these launch cars will not be available for sale perhaps for some time?
