Thanks for the report. Does the launch car has PSE and PDDC?

The silver car I drove had both. If I recall correctly, the other car (black) didn't.

Dang... A 4.0 huh? My car is due for service, perhaps I should see what they will give me for a trade in.. I wonder if they will take my house as well?

GT3RS 4.0 is pretty much at the top of my list.

^^ That's correct, the black didn't, maybe because they're not using that one at the show?

Anyways, just got done driving the black one myself. Going tomorrow to make my deposit on a new build. Wish I didn't drive a PDK, I was set on a manual, but now....... I'm leaning more towards the PDK, very impressive.

I was the dealership on Saturday evening and Momentum had a white 991 S on the lot. They had closed so I couldn't drive it but will do so this week as I work down the street. It looks really good in person.

Momentum also has a gray 991S, with photos on their Facebook page.

jfr0317, how did the acceleration feel compared to your GT3? I'm curious if it feels as fast as the recent mag tests show it to be.

Wide open throttle acceleration seems pretty close between the two vehicles as you might expect given Porsche's 0 to 60 estimates of 4.0 seconds for my GT3 and 4.1 (3.9 with Sport Chrono Launch Control mode) for the 991 C2S w/PDK. My test drive location didn't allow any higher speed driving, so I can't say how they would compare beyond 60 MPH, but I would guess the GT3 would have an edge there.

Having said all of the above, the GT3 feels slightly quicker just driving around with an occasional goosing of the throttle, which seems right given the GT3 and the 991 C2S are both right around 3100 lbs., and the GT3 has 35 more horsepower.

Thanks! Seats of the pants can be so difficult to compare. Even the mags have the gt3 running to 100 in 8.1 or so whereas the 991S even with LC is at least .04-.05 slower. Remove just LC and it will get worse. Remove PDK more~so.

Can't wait to see a manual to manual comparison to 60, 100 and on. The gearing w/PDK and now w/the 7 speed does help the 991 of course. I hope the next gt3 gets higher gearing as well.

correct. i drove the black one today, and agree with your assessment. I actually like not having all leather interior. I have in on my 997 carrera s, and it is not wearing all that well after 7 years. i think the composite material would probably wear much better over the long haul. The interior quality is really great. The car i drove did not have PSE, but the exhaust note is really great. it is much more aggressive than the previous model. It is more comfortable, more spacious, and a more pleasant drive while cruising. it also appears to be a beast when it needs to be. i pretty much loved everything about it. they did a great job with it.

How would you characterize the ride and handling between the PDDC equipped car and the regular car?

Hopefully California,Oregon, and Washington cars release tomorrow 01/26 from port, delayed over CARB certification. Just finished dealer training in the standing water and blowing rain on monday, perfect for real life Seattle situations. Car was extremely confident under the conditions.
