Default Ordered my 991 today

March build for April delivery. White S coupe, black full leather, PDK, sport chrono, sunroof, sport wheel w paddles, sport exhaust, power sport seats, PCCB's, premium pkg +, no PDCC (not sure on this one). It's my 5th white 911 since '96 and the best part is that none of my patients, staff or friends can ever tell when I get a new car (some of my car-guy friends know but that's ok). Cost more than my '05 997 turbo- oh well, the price of progress.

Congrats! Are you trading in your GTS or keeping it?

Congrats! Can't fault your build at all. So you couldn't resist getting it now, perhaps to have waited a year or two till porsche worked out the bugs?

As far as cost PCCBs surely didn't help, but I've heard and read time and time again that the steel brakes are magnificient enough?

Congratulations! Sometimes waiting is half the fun!

Tell me about the 5 whites! I've never done the same color twice although I'm considering another PTS Blue Turquiose this time I love that color so much. Does it ever feel redundant or when you haven't done it are you sorry?

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Tom

997 Turbo first model year was 2007...?? 05 was still 996.

But we get the point. Porsche is very proud of these cars. Price is getting off the charts, especially with all the must have options.

Congrats. I was just invited by my dealer to a private black tie premier event to see the first 991 to arrive later this month. Sounds like fun. I asked my wife if she wanted to go. She said my car looks and drives like new, but she could use a new Cayenne.

I'll be trading it in. May turn it in early on consignment. I will miss it but didn't order it well...

As for bugs- guess I trust Porsche engineering. I typically don't keep cars outside of the warranty so not too worried. Never had a single problem with my '95 993, 2000 996TT, 2005 997S or 2007 997TT (thanks JW for the reminder). PCCB's are a lot of $ but I really hate brake dust!

OK, about the Whites. It helps that I've always liked white cars but it does get boring after a while. After a few black cars though, white is so forgiving and rarely shows dirt, never shows swirls and small scratches. I have a referral based dental practice and I would get a lot of sh*t from my dental friends if they knew how many cars I go through. Always getting another white 911 allows me to fly under the radar. I'm known as a car guy anyway but I feel less obvious getting a new plain white car.

That is correct if you are speaking about the US. It is not necessarily true for every country.

I see it as enjoying the fruits of your labour. Congratulations.
