so am I making a Mistake???
I have a 2012 GTS 4 in PTS slate gray... I actually luv the color and really enjoying the car, i am typically a GT3 guy ... but this car fits the bill for now great to run kids back and forth to practice etc.. but pending seeing the specs on the launch vehicle I can pick up that car... what are you alls thoughts on the new 991???
I just started reading about it
I t has a lot of +++ looks like it is one hell of a performer! rear of car is looks a lil panamera ??
any thoughts will i be going backwards from the gts?
i am patiently waiting for the GT3... but i think thats a year away

I don't think that the 991 is a step backward from the GTS at all. OTOH, your GTS is brand new. You say you're "patiently waiting", but replacing a beautiful new GTS with a "placeholder" 991 for a year before the 991 GT3 you really want comes out, does not sound like the plan of a patient man......

Patience is relative ....
My initial reaction would be that you are impatient and impetuous and my rational advice would be that you at least wait till the 991 GT3. I personally tend to wait on average 4 years since my previous brand new car purchase.
But if your finances allow it, that changes everything. If you can buy a luxury or sports car every year without negatively impacting your lifestyle and future, good for you. Enjoy life!
As far as your other question, the 991 will be a step forward from the 997 gts, not backwards.

Matt, I hear you. One RS and three GT3's here, all 997
We have the disease, what can I say?
I'm looking "classic" as a placeholder for now. Sure it isn't as fast, but they have a certain class to them and for a flip and a hoot are likely much better values. Anything 993 and older is only going UP if you buy the right specimen. How fast can we go on the street? ... DON'T ANSWER THAT!
