Thanks for all of the input. I've decided to add PSE, and to omit the leather covered fuse box covers. Frankly, I've been considering purchasing a 911 for years. Way too many if you ask my wife. My two high school aged boys and I are very pumped. We even flew to L.A. for the North American debut of the 991 a few weeks back. We know we're very lucky. We're targeting a March build and April delivery. The wait will be tough, but very worth it.

So here's the order (with some questions for my dealer in ALL CAPS):

911 Carrera S $96,400
Packages P3A Burmester® Audio Package $5,010
P3C Premium Package Plus with Adaptive Sport Seats Plus $6,155
Exterior Color 1H Platinum Silver Metallic $710
Interior Color NG Carrera Red natural leather interior $4,840
Exterior 498 Deletion of Model Designation $0 (CONFIRM STILL HAS "PORSCHE" ON BACK)
748 Electric folding exterior mirrors $320 (CONFIRM ADDS PUDDLE LIGHTS)
Performance 176 Sport Exhaust System $2,950
250 Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) $4,080
640 Sport Chrono Package $2,370
Wheels 423 20-inch Carrera S wheel $0
Interior 583 Smoking package $0 (CONFIRM THIS CLEANS THINGS UP A BIT. DON'T SEE A DOWNSIDE.)
P07 Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way) $0
Interior Leather 840 SportDesign steering wheel $490
998 Natural leather interior $0
CFX Personalized floor mats with leather edging $645 (BLACK CARPET WITH CARRERA RED NATURAL LEATHER EDGING)
XSC Porsche Crest on headrests $285
Total: $125K ish

good point. i think a lot of us, at least me, are still thinking Porsche has auto dimming mirrors as a stand alone as it was with the 997s.

Are you sure you want the red interior? Very few buyers would want it if you ever sell it. I would recommend black or gray interior for a platinum car.

I think that the Natural Leather in Espresso would go very well with Platinum Silver as well.

Rolando,
That is exactly what I would order barring the color preferences. Congrats.

Dr Jay,
I don't know about the black dials and mahogany in the console. I like Carrera white dials.

I am still on the fence about the black dials, and the PDK. Part of me really wants the manual transmission but I can't deny how great PDK would be for a DD. I do like the wood trim though.

Dr. Jay (or anyone else),

Have you found a really accurate black/platinum interior pic? I'm trying to decide between all black and black/platinum. I generally don't like light colored interiors, and I'm worried the platinum will be too light. It looks very dark in the configurator and somewhat lighter in the brochure. I've seen a couple of pics where it looks very light. I'm either going with a white or red exterior, and I like the look of the two tone interior. My 997 is all black, so I'm looking to change things up a bit.

Love the black dials. Spec'd them on a 997S and have them on my .2 gt3. Can't say enough about them. Be sure to get the SC dash gauge in black as well.

I have not had enough time to see how Porsche has changed some of the packaging/optioning. With that said, be sure to get SC Plus, whether or not you ever use LC. I never would use LC but would absolutely get SC Plus. If your current option has that then , cool.

Imo, ditch the wood trim; without a doubt. Amongst other subjective reasons, your residual will suffer greatly when it comes to resale time. I don't know that you have enough contrast with the interior/exterior colors. I'd skip grey leather, especially with a grey exterior, even if two-tone; subjective and my opinion of course.

Again, pardon my ignorance here but why does one need the tele module, when BT and VC covers that.

Most of the two tone interior pics, including the 991 brochure, are black and platinum (light gray). The other combo is the new for Porsche agate (dark gray) and pebble, which is basically an off-white, replacing the old fav black and beige two tone. Seems to be a popular one at the moment and found in many high end cars. My first car was a 70's era blue with white interior Olds - and that's how I spec'ed my 2012 Porsche!

Silver and red is classic. Bs to "very few" buyers want it. Maybe not as many as black but arguably just as many as gray which is largely felt to be quite boring, especially with a silver exterior. There's a reason porsche is featurig it in new cab promos, and there's a reason it's been produced for years. I'm biased, though,as my new gts cab is this combo. The dealer said he had to shoo people away from it while on the showroom floor.
