Are you in the same boat as me ...
... and if so why ?
Let me elaborate. I have never visited the 964 forum (the successor to the 3.2), never visited the forum for the model that preceded the 997. Yet I frequently visit the 991 eventhough I have no plans of getting into one. I can't explain why ? Is it because of
1) Curiosity (then why not for a Boxster spyder or a Cayman R or a Panamera etc)
2) Positive reinforcement that I have the right car for my needs/taste (my 997.2).
I've owned several cars and rarely if at all visit the successors section. But it is just different. Probably anything new is exciting when it comes to a 911. Are you in the same boat as me and if so why ? I would love to hear your reasons.

It's something new, something different, with a fresh set of topics to discuss and controversies to wrangle over. I like looking forward more than looking backward, so even though it might be a few years away, it's always fun to imagine my next car and especially my next Porsche. And no mistake, many of the folks complaining about the 991 today will find a way to convince themselves they need one in the next 5 years. Make mine a generation 2 991 GT3 variant in red (or maybe yellow).......

I imagine you're done with new 911's because I don't see Porsche marching backwards with their product line. Too bad; I think there might be some interesting rear engine Porsches just ahead.

I obviously come here too . When the 991 was first announced, i really didnt want to like it. However, unfortunately i do. I think Porsche has done a tremendous job. I do not think i will get one right off the bat, too much $ for not a big difference to mine. But, i can see getting a .2 if they bump the HP, upgrade other stuff etc.
You come here like me, probably because there is a chance we may get one Although we dont need one per se.
