I just looked and the configurator shows $4080 for PDK on the 991. Where did you see $5K? Anyway, $4080 is what I paid for PDK on my '09 so looks like there's been no change.

Maybe I gotto check again, I probably read $4800 instead of $4080.

They also show an aerokit which isn't currently available on the US version. Bet we get goth eventually.

Interesting that they don't currently show PCCB brakes as an option in the configurator but they do discuss them as an option in the summary.

I got it to work Mike. Bare bottom comfort and go fast options now totals 115K. Yipe. Is it really worth the upgrade from my 05 C2S?

there are so many good deal on used 997, it is really hard to justify the price bump, .... unless you want to look good

Did anyone see if the car will actually be lighter than the current 997.2 ? I could not find the official weight information.

I agree... hard to justify at this point.

The car is lighter (all aluminium body), by 40 pounds I think, someone will correct me I am sure.

I love the duck tail, but that sport design front bumper/spoiler option is too garish for my taste.

Yah I noticed that. That is really is the only part of the designation I would want deleted.

The configurator seems to be a work in process - surprised they released it with bugs and while dealers are trying to move 2012 C2's!
Speaking of bugs, it bugs me that you still have to pay $500 or so to get proper interior lighting, a wheel with stereo controls and other Porsche "extras". And the only way to get a subwoofer for decent sound which is to buy the Bose, is now in a $2000+ package?

Some of us don't want the special interior lighting or heavy subwoofers and I really don't want controls on my steering wheel.

Porsche is using something besides Flash and Shockwave for the 3D modeling. Haven't logged in as administrator to get it working yet. Good thing it supports Apple so now the OSX people can view their cars in 3D too.
