The current RS wing is a combination of form and function. It looks the part, which is to say it replicates the look of a race car, which is exactly what the RS is supposed to be, a Cup car for the street (as far as one could go). As everyone also knows every homologation race car employs a wing like the RS, so it fits the part.
Second, it follows function, not only does it do its job better than any other active decklid spoiler but it is most likely much lighter, not having to employ the motorized parts.
On topic:
I think the wider longer body is going to do wonders in increasing the sexiness of the 911. I'm already impressed from the stock photos at the aggressiveness of the base models without the GT3 bits. It definitely points to a future GT3/RS model that will look stunning.

Looks like they've improved the Aero to the naked eye. Wonder if 4.0L will be the standard engine size, or if not yet, when.

The door mounted side mirrors give the car the wider, more exotic look, which I think is great.
