It certainly looks bigger

Agreed on the interior, the high center console thing, yuck.
Panamera, Cayenne... it fits in those. But not the 911.

edit: OK, wait. the exception on the high center console is the CGT...
It's 2 inches longer, but they shifted the wheel base to be 4 inches longer than the 997.

As they say..beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

I think the 997 is much nicer looking and the last of the classic looking Porsches. In fact I think the 997 looks as good as the 993. The 991 looks stretched and low to me especially between the wheels which now makes room for real rear seats and a Panamera style interior. It's now a 2+2 luxury performer in my eyes. Not 911 like IMHO.

I am glad I pulled the trigger on a Carrera GTS as opposed to waiting for a 991. I think I made the right decision and now convinced the GTS is a keeper.

I like it.

I find it funny that many 997 guys don't like it (or are in denial after just buying a 997.2), while many from the 993 crowd seem to love it.

Exterior is great, must be debadged though...

Interior, HORRIFIC! GT/Sedan/Luxry, NO SENSE of sportiness! It's ridicolous, they're now owned by VW/Audi and Audi does the BEST interiors around and they can't get this right! VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Default Couple of things

I think from the front it resembles a Cayman. Beat me with a stick if you like but thats what I see.

The slope of the roofline resembles the Cayman as well.

The back kind of reminds of an Aston Martin

And for the finale the freaking rear badges - does it need to say

P O R S C H E

911 Carerra S

Way to much crap going on there.

Just put the damn 993 rear end on a 997 and you have the perfect 911.

Believe it or not, Porsche history goes back before the 993.

I know the 993 koolaid drinkers won't want to believe this but as listed from Porsche the 991 curb weight is 3,042 lbs vs the 993 curb weight of 3,064 lbs.

I've had some of Porsche's most beautiful creations: 91 911 Turbo, 96 993 Turbo and now a 997 GT3. The last time I loved a base model as much as the 991 was way back in 1995 when the 993 was launched. Porsche has a winner on their hands and I can't even imagine how weak I'll be when they launch the GT3. Compare the base 997 to the GT3 and now extrapolate the 991 to the GT3... have those deposit credit cards ready!

This is fine and I have seen this before but does it need to say

P O R S C H E

911 Carrera S

?

Either they just do:

P O R S C H E

or

911

or

Carrera S
