991 is just okay but isn't it about time to see some real changes in style/design than going back and forth between 993 cues and other models(cayman)...
I have always thought the way Porsche should have followed new design inspiration was from this concept car, Rinspeed Zazen from few years ago!
If Porsche ever build 992 this way, I would buy one in a second.

Agree. I probably wouldn't buy a Cayman but I like the smaller size. When I see the 993 next to the newer generation 911s they look huge to me. I'm disappointed that Porsche keeps making them bigger. But, that being said, I like the 991 a lot, I think they done good.

I am beginning to like the design too. And the thought that they shaved of 45kgs from a alu/composite chassis! But the electric steering, well, we'll have to see about that.

The 991 is just perfect. Can't wait to get mine. Red with black interior and black center wheels.

Of course, this is not why we love the 993. However, this comes a lot closer to the "classic Porsche" look than the 996 or 997.

Well, OK. IF I was going to go ove to the Dark Side, this might be the one to take me there--GR with a tan interior--although I'm not too crazy about the interior. I know it's what you need to deliver these days, I'm just left a bit cold.

Looks much nicer than the 997. The rear arch curves of the 993 are back. No doubt at some point they will reintroduce the rear centre deflector as well. Perhaps on the 991.2?

This is the car I'm buying 10 years from now, when I can get them used for $30K and my knees are too old to push a clutch.

I'll keep my 993 for fun driving....or just sit in the garage, look at it, and dream of the day...

Very impressive looking from angle and front view. Rear end not liking it. Interior looks like a big lux sedan. Great looking but still love my 993!

is it actually larger? I haven't kept up with the news on this.
It certainly looks bigger

Agreed on the interior, the high center console thing, yuck.
Panamera, Cayenne... it fits in those. But not the 911.

edit: OK, wait. the exception on the high center console is the CGT...

It reminds me more of a GT tourer than a sports car. Would make an awesome daily.

If they stretched it a bit more and added 2 more doors, this is what the Panamera should have been.

The car is lighter then the previous generation so I think we can rule out fatter.
