bug eyes!
those 20's are huge. make the brakes look tiny. I surely hope 19s are standard.
i sure hope those aluminum bits are indeed aluminum .
Its good to see the PDK toggles make it over.
i do like the interior door handles. the current ones are cheap.

The car is beautiful and what one might expect for a larger Sport GT which is where the 911 has been going for some time in my opinion. It's always been like that with rear seats - they have all had rear seats except for the racing models. Some say it's straying too far and the 997 is the last of the compact line - a lot of older Porsche guys would beg to differ - they've felt for a very long time that Porsche has strayed far from it's roots. Some say that after the original 356 it was totally changed. Some said after the torsion bar suspension models - "last of the hand built" , and some say after the air cooled engines were phased out was the end to the real Porsche. With each new gen we go thru the same anguish while some immediately love it others are convinced it is the beginning of the end.
I personally don't see a big change from the 997. It looks longer and perhaps wider and obviously we all know it's a 911 for crying out loud, but those are all nit picks. It's pretty and the interior does favor the Panamera and kind of the Carrera GT flavor in the center console too - but not as rich of course. Makes you want to go back to the days you didn't have AC doesn't it??????? Nahhhhhh!

These photos are identical to the ones posted earlier that were decried as "Photoshopped." Although it's impossible to know for sure, I think these shots (and the others) are probably right on.
Overall, the 991 seems like a well-done evolution from the 997. Not enough of a departure to upset any of us too much.
The rear badging, while way over the top, is part of Porsche's new designation philosophy. The Cayennes and Panameras, which originally did not say PORSCHE on the back, now do. Still, it'll be strange to see a 911 on the road with the word PORSCHE on it, let alone "Porsche 911 Carrera S."
Delete, delete, delete, indeed.

Well, I'm not nitpicking. I said it is a nice looking car and clearly is a 911. Its just noticably longer (to me) and the interior smacks of SUV. Its just like my wife's Range Rover Sport.

Definitely a "shopped" job. Front indicators do not go past the edge of the front radiator intakes. If you look at all the spy shots, the LED's never light up past the outside edge of the radiator intakes, whereas in the "leaked" photos they do. Definitely "shopped".

I think the overall design is a pleasant evolution of the current one with some concerns for me. As mentioned above, the front intakes seem unnecessarily gaping to me--are they really needed? The clear lights above them look like a gray handlebar mustache, but might look better in person.
Am I wrong to think that the rear overhang is longer? Wasn't it supposed to be shorter? Maybe it's just an illusion from the photo, but one thing a modern 911 could use (each one from the 996 forward) is less overhang, both front and rear; there has to be a way to do this even with all the pedestrian safety requirements and crumple zones. The cut-outs in the lower rear fascia make the rear less bulbous and bulky, but they're contrived and look odd from the side.
That interior looks too nice to see a day at the track! While it may look more pedestrian in black, it sure looks luxurious in these pics.
