Go ahead and double the tire budget... you'd probably be lucky to get 5k miles out of a set of rears on a street driven car.

I don't know that I dig 20" wheels on these cars. C&D says the Carrera S will have them standard, so I assume the Turbo will also have standard 20's. I prefer to see more rubber.

I was disappointed in the styling and SIZE of the new 911 car. Yeah, I remember the 996 moving over the 993 (I still have a 993 C4S) ... and I did not like that either. Still don't.

I had to wait for the 997 Turbo before I got a new car. And, I think the 997 is one of the best looking of the 911s produced ... other than the 993. Which is the best of the best in "lookers", IMO. Others may not agree.

But, this NEW car is so Panaramadama looking. Crikey ! It's HUGE compared to a 993 ... and BIG compared to a 997.

I don't know. I'm pretty much put off by the car from most respects. I'm sure they will sell, tho.

Sorry ... I'm sounding like my father. Crikey !!

20's as stock?

Anyone feel they're aiming at the young crowd too much, away from us traditional Porsche enthusiasts midlife or so?

I don't have any problems with 20s as stock ... seems most vehicles are going LARGE with the wheels. Prolly ride like crap, but I've got 20s on my Dodge Ram Laramie, and 19s on my TT, wife has 20s on her Murano, too.

Seems the way things are. And, I doubt many 'young folk' can afford the ticket on the new car either. JMO.
