I'm not sold on that yet. The boot seems much larger than the 997 cabs. They could have found away to use light weight carbon fiber panels and use only 2 panel etc.. etc... to keep weight and space down. That or they got very good at hiding the support bows.
doubt it. that would make the cab $100k.

Man i hope the electric steering doesnt make it.

Has the sticker been replaced with a real intake?

Ah, best pics yet.

The big mystery is the headlights. They look like they might be a bit more like the Cayman, sort of tear drop shaped.

Is the windshield much more raked than the 997? Just from visual impression, the car looks longer, lower, sleeker.

Don't know if it's real, as in functional, but it's not a sticker like it was before.

That whole rear panel looks like its taped on along the rear window... seems like a lot of effort to hide the intakes... perhaps this will look very different.

In fact the whole seam with the rear bumper, seems like it will be very different

I think it's clear that the Carrera will be a more luxurious GT than ever before. That's great! It will increase sales through great appeal to people who otherwise were buying 6 Series and Merc MLs and whatnot. The better news is that given the GT3RS, GT2RS, the as-yet-unreleased 4.0-liter or whatever-it-is Porsche is obviously committed to building EXTREME performance cars for die-hard enthusiasts. That's great too! I can live with Porsche sedans, suvs, grand touring cars if it means even crazier top-end models.

Agree 100%

That is definitely the direction they are taking with the 911 and it makes sense.

Porsche built what I wanted when they developed the Boxster Spyder and I've voted with my wallet....just wish the options weren't so painfully expensive!

Just curious what everyone else is hearing on the launch date. Two weeks ago a dealer told me the end of this year and today a different dealer said possibly the Spring of 2012. Neither knew for sure. Any insiders out there?

Almost certainly a 991 Turbo. Fenders are wider, and note the vented rear bumper and rear exhaust are nearly identical to the current Turbo. Given that it will most likely have a carry-over drivetrain, not surprising.

Everything points to a 991 debut at the Frankfurt auto show in September. When cars arrive here is anybody's guess right now.

The 991 does look good in the video, sounds good too! The 997 was the love child of the 993 and 996. The 991 looks like the 997 in puberty.

More pictures at worldcarfans http://www.worldcarfans.com/11103293...the-nrburgring

If you look at the pics at high res you can see how the new frunk seems to have a much more pronounced curve, probably for the EU regs. The side sills look more flared, still no detail on what is between the taillights.
