You guys are being too pessimistic. Take Mooty's and Mike's approach: Think of all the weight savings when you turn your new 991 into a stripper!

In fairness, you could also argue that the new console is the fat grandkid of the CGT's. No?

My next car will be at least 100lbs lighter, I don't see the next GT3 being lighter.
Part of why the GT3 holds up on track is the lightness. If a car is too heavy it will be no good, no matter what the HP is.

Sorry - that is just too busy. Way too much corporate part sharing!

I guess "form follows function" is out the window...that's a pointless center console for a rear-engined (or mid-engined) vehicle. Wasted space; wasted weight.

Makes sense in the Panamera and Cayenne...but not here.

Can even imagine trying to take that new center console out. So many buttons so many wires. Your gauge cluster will lite up like las Vegas. Mike

get used to it - the big wheels are in motion for mediocrity and steve-jobs-like corporate branding. individuality is out, and hoi pollei are being fed what they want. the world needs a re-boot....

The older designs had problems too in the center console area. And many complained about the luck of cup holders.
