Default More AC problems

A few months ago my dealer replaced both the blower fan and the whole AC control unit in the dash.

A few days ago the entire AC quit working yet again (not blowing), this time the recirulation flap is slammed closed on the airbox so I cant stick my hand in it to try and spin the motor. pressing the recirc button on the control panel also does nothing. No airflow at all so the fan isnt spinning. any ideas?

If the dealer replaced parts they should have some type of warranty if you take the car back in.

Agreed, and a diag. fee on parts warranty shouldn't be a thing.

You took it to them to fix and they did not fix it. This is why I avoid all dealers they are crooks. Find a good local wrench or AC mechanic and have them actually diagnose and fix the problem. Right now you have several thousand in new parts you probably did not need. I would roast their *** on google reviews and yelp with dates and pictures or the work with invoices (block out personal info).

If the system is receiving power, sounds like the module is unhappy about something.

This is standard practice.

They said it is a "servo motor issue". There goes another $250 warranty deductible.

The recirc is closed and unresponsive, but theres also no air coming out of the vents. Does one servo control both of these functions?

Not true at all, It appeares they replaced two items under warranty, but yet another part has broken. I've been screwed by every Indy ive ver been to in the last 20 years.

without pulling up a diagram to confirm, that sounds like two separate things happening.

is the fan motor spinning? or is it silent?

the 991 could run a 3 position setup -- fresh air, recirc, and "off" that just closes off the whole system. more "premium" cars tend to do this so you don't get air blowing through the vents when you turn the HVAC off. for example, my 2005 subaru did this, and could be overridden to explicitly enable that behavior. one of the best hvac systems I've ever had.

I think it was stuck in "off" as I had turned it off the night before to hear the wheel tick I was hearing (loose lug nuts). Dealer said the tech recalibrated the servo motor and its working now, what ever that means.

I will repeat my statement. 1000% true.

That's not how it works. If I go get my tires rotated and my radio breaks on the way home, Tires Plus isn't responsible for fixing my radio.

Default related how ?

Your tires and radio are part of your AC system ? This must be a .2 issue.

Car is back, They found blower motor stuck and vent flap stuck, they did something and recalibrated the servo motor that controls the flap I guess. its working now. The point of mentioning the tires was that I put the ac in the off position to hear it which caused the recirc flap to shut........ good luck with your radio?
