Need some help with Dash peeling
So here is the story I bought a 991.2 GTS last July from Long Beach Porsche. It was a CPO car with 9k miles. About a few weeks after buying it I saw that the dash trim was starting to peel but one of the windshield vents. No biggie I thought I'll take it in when I do my first oil change because it seems minor and I'm having too much fun driving it. Well took it in two weeks ago and now I'm being told from my dealer that PCNA denied my CPO claim and said that trim is not covered under CPO. They want me to escalate to PCNA as they have exhausted all their options. Two questions:
1. This seems like BS to me. Do I have a leg to stand on?
2. Anyone had luck appealing to PCNA and if so any suggestions on how to go about it?
Thanks in advance. This is already leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

Doesn't sound right to me. My 2018 Cayenne Turbo was purchased CPO, and developed a delamination in the dash....maybe a 4 x 2 slight bubble. They replaced the entire full leather dash under CPO, no questions asked.
991 Door Panels peel & delaminate as well - up on top where the sun hits them. I've seen this on a 991 from AZ. Car not garaged it's gonna happen.
.....I would highly doubt Porsche CPO Warranty would cover dash or door peeling because if car is garaged and not left in sun these issues wouldn't occur.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately CPO claims can be denied for cosmetic issues. With that said, I would still continue to escalate and work with PCNA. In some situations it sounds like they will address things like that as a good faith repair.
Is it a leather dash or plastic? If it's leather and PCNA won't help, you could possibly have it repaired without removing the entire dash, but I'm not positive of that. Any pics you can share?

Unfortunately, it appears that some Porsche models as well as other high-end cars like those from Ferrari—can develop dashboard bubbling, wrinkles, or peeling when exposed to high heat. Mine, a 991.2 unfortunately did as well.
It’s not an uncommon issue.

Happened to me on a former 991.2
I ended up taking it to a place that repaired a lot of Ferrari leather dashes due to sun damage (very common for Italian cars).
They removed the dash and reupholstered the leather, including the stitching. Was significantly less expensive than what the dealer would have charged for an entirely new dash.
After the repair, it was like new.

Speaking of costs, I took mine to an independent (racing

Common theme on leather dashboards not just for Porsche. Bought a used 2020 AM Vantage from Vegas with the dash bubbling due to sun exposure with no windshield tint. It now has ceramic windshield film. As I always preach, ceramic film on windshields is key to increasing longevity of these high end vehicle dashboards. It's even available in clear for those that do not like dark glass.
Good luck with PCNA and hopefully it gets resolved.
FWIW I live in a year round hot sunny area and have 35 and 40+ year cars with original dashboard in mint condition thanks to garaging and ceramic film on all glass.

To remedy interior material issues seek out the best Detail shop in your area.
Contact car dealerships to find out who they use - Many of these high end detail shops work mobile and come to you.

Very common problem on 991, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera with leather dash.
Only way to avoid: use a sunshade EVERY SINGLE TIME the car is parked for ANY length of time outdoors. Slightly impractical for most but - that is what prevents it.

As mentioned, don't forget ceramic windshield film for when the vehicle is in use.
My 2014 C2S had the peeling dash. I bought the car from a Porsche dealer under CPO warranty and they covered replacement. Shortly after, my headliner started sagging but they wouldn't cover it unless it was a safety issue. There was no way it would sag enough to block my vision so I paid a shop to repair it.
