Default Neodyme Satin rims

I don't think Neodyme Satin 0Z1 was ever a color option for 991s, but I have a set of Carrera Classics that I want to paint in this color.

So I gave the shop the "recipe" that I found on this thread:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...de-needed.html

They mixed it and sent me this photo

I know you can't tell much by looking at liquid paint in a cup and it will probably look somewhat different dried up on the rims, but how does it look to you?
Is it close enough?

I think the wheels will still look good, even if the color isn’t a perfect match to Porsche Neodyme.

Hope so.
Called the shop and gave the go ahead.
I suspect they have already done it… 😅

To me the wheels and the dripping paint sample look totally different.

I'm VERY curious as to how this ended up. I too love the neodyme look and also have the classic wheels. Would save me a lot of money getting new wheels to mimic that.

That looks pretty close to the real Neodyme Satin from what I can tell. Hard to judge from liquid paint, but once it’s sprayed and cleared it should pop nicely under sunlight. I’d say go for it — that color on Carrera Classics will look killer.

This is how they came out…

I told them specifically not to paint the center caps around the Porsche badge, but they did it anyway…

Should I have them redone in gunmetal gray or black for a little contrast or should I leave them Neodyme colored?

I think I’d put them on the car and see how they look before deciding. The wheel color looks good.

If you decide to go with black center caps, that would look good too. I’ve got black center caps with gold wheels and I like it.

Center caps are fairly cheap, you can buy a black or gray and change them out if you want to suit your mood. They are cheap on ebay or even Ali, whereas a Porsche dealer will rip you off.

Doesn't look gold enough for me, but like others said put it on the car first or at least next to it in normal light to see.

Cause It’s not supposed to be gold.
Neodyme is neither Aurum or Gold.
It’s a silverish color with a hint of rosegold.

I think it’s closer to an antique brass color than any shades of gold.
