I used them in all my cars when I lived up north except the 911/GT3. Don't use them now (moved to FL). I did not drive the 911/GT3 in the winter up north.
Great mats, amazing fit and you actually can dump a coffee down there and it stays on the mat. Far better than the crap "all season" mats Porsche sells.
I’ve had weathertechs in my previous cars and was disappointed. They always curl on the edges and looked “off”. The Porsche rubber mats are very nice in comparison. Love them.
Had them in my former 991 C2S. Perfect fit. Keeps everything clean and protected. Used as well in my former company Nissan Murano. excellent product.
Will replace my current Porsche all weather mats in my current C4S with weather tech.
I've had Weathertech's in my daily driver (Tacoma) for ~10 years now and they seem perfect in this type of vehicle (camping, dirty shoes etc). I've considered purchasing for the 911, but I kind of fear it will 'cheapen' the interior look and feel. I'm not too concerned about spillage (if I were, it would be a no-brainer), I mainly just hate cleaning/vacuuming the carpet mats.
those who hate weathertech mats -- which product line did you use? The laser-measured floorliners are all I have experience with, and they've always been fabulous for me.
Here’s my conversation with my wife.
Wife: Babe, are you going to get all weather mats?
Me: No, why? Are you going to spill coffee, boba tea on it?
Wife: Well no but that way you can keep the original Porsche mats clean and new.
Me: If they gotten dirty, clean them, they gotten worn out, get a new set they are cheaper than any of those weather mats anyway.

In our Hyundai Tucson we got Husky liners. Perfect fit, pliable rubber, I've been very happy with them.

I had the same question. There is a big difference between their floor "liners" and floor "mats". The liners are a far superior product IMO. I've had the Weathertech floor liners in my 4Runner for almost 20 years and in my wife's Highlander for almost 10. They've held up extremely well and fit like a glove.
I tend to agree with @GoaterAz that rubber floor mats don't fit the look and quality of a modern 911. My 911 isn't my daily so the floor mats don't get the abuse that the floor liners in my 4Runner get. I just prefer the look of the OE Porsche carpet mats and don't mind spending a few minutes vacuuming them every few weeks. But if your 911 is your daily, I get it.
When I bought my old 997, the carpet floor mat on the driver side was pretty worn out so I replaced both front mats with the same Porsche OE carpet mats from Suncoast. I forget the exact cost, but they weren't all that expensive. I kind of look at the carpet mats as a consumable, and I'm OK replacing them every 5-6 years if need be.
If you're set on mats or liners, I would definitely go with the liners. They look and perform much better.
I have the floor liners which do cover far more area than the factory mats. My only dislike is they have a smooth surface so I have to be careful when wearing sneakers driving my manual 2019 GTS
