I don't think it would look bad if you scooted up the 911_50 logo and ditched the P O R S C H E; however, I'd leave it as is.
In fact, it may look better and if I were in product / design at Porsche in 2014, your idea is probably how I would have approached this model designation. But yes, you'd be working without a template to confirm exact placement.
For placement, I wouldn't simply move it all the way up where P O R S C H E is though, that would be too high. You'd want to place it into the space between the 2 current emblems... Using the Carrera 4/4S template, place the 911_50 emblem vertically and horizontally centered where the model delete template would place the brand name. This would be very easy to figure out (I own a set of the templates). It's a bit odd though, since the 911_50 emblem has its own vertical line break.
Anyway. I'd leave it as is. I have friends who have changed the emblems on their Porsches like 35 times and it's always amusing to me what they come up with. Better? No. Different? Yes.

Appreciate the opinion... still torn 50/50 on delete lettering to match "Speedster" rear, but also agree with you both it looks nice as-is
I have a new 911_50 badge bought from Suncoast, that I would place where the "P O R S C H E" lettering currently sits as I agree just removing the Porsche lettering would create an ugly gap

i have been considering a similar modification to my S and i was thinking about using the 997 "Carrera S" lettering because the font is larger and might look better in the space.
if you do it definitely post pics.

Sorry to high jack this thread.
Back to original post. I think removing PORSCHE and moving 911/50 up an inch would be perfect.

Neither my 16 spyder nor my 16 4S have PCCB either, its just unnecessary for the speed of the car. Only suitable for turbos. I dont think PTS was as obscenely expensive as it is today, but its a very nice spec on a rather odd model to do all that to. If anything it would be cooler fully badged so people would say "theres no fing way someone speced a base like this"

The only reason I didn’t want a Porsche is because some people perceive them as cars for selfish narcissists. And you’ve proven that point.
Nonetheless, despite your snobbery, I’ll drive my base 992 with great pleasure once it arrives and I can bring the check to pay cash for my dream car finally attained.
As for the subject of this thread - I’d leave the tail as badged from the factory. It looks fantastic.

I had my PPF redone and they didn't have time to reapply the badging, so until I bring it back for them to do that, I've been enjoying the smooth rear look. Previously I had Porsche and "911" on this base Carrera. I think I will go back just Porsche. In the mean time, the car does look a bit more serious.

I just ordered a base 992.2 because I just want a fun car. I could’ve afforded a GTS or a turbo but 383 HP and going 150 mph, where legal, is plenty fast enough for me. I also wanted GT silver with traditional Carrera wheels and to just really enjoy driving it on nice days.

I'm still really torn re: badging... I have until next week to decide when the 50th goes to my detailer for ceramic coating and some clean up
Someone in my family is also ordering a 992.2 base, car looks epic... base is already too fast for most roads, and pushing $140k+!
