He is a snob, surprising because I'm from Honolulu just as he is and most of us from there don't act that way
I'm still really torn re: badging... I have until next week to decide when the 50th goes to my detailer for ceramic coating and some clean up
Someone in my family is also ordering a 992.2 base, car looks epic... base is already too fast for most roads, and pushing $140k+!

I have no issues with base carreras, I have an issue with up-badging or making it look like something it isnt. My last 911 was a base, and granted I did trade it for a Lexus.
Also, no matter how many Porsches you buy from JN, you wont be getting invites to any of their "high end events" unless its a GT3 or an italian. The snobbery here is real.

I did this with my car. The 987 badging is larger than the 981 version and it definitely fills the space better. I thought 'PORSCHE' felt redundant and made the bumper look too busy.

I don't think it would look bad if you scooted up the 911_50 logo and ditched the P O R S C H E; however, I'd leave it as is.
In fact, it may look better and if I were in product / design at Porsche in 2014, your idea is probably how I would have approached this model designation. But yes, you'd be working without a template to confirm exact placement.
For placement, I wouldn't simply move it all the way up where P O R S C H E is though, that would be too high. You'd want to place it into the space between the 2 current emblems... Using the Carrera 4/4S template, place the 911_50 emblem vertically and horizontally centered where the model delete template would place the brand name. This would be very easy to figure out (I own a set of the templates). It's a bit odd though, since the 911_50 emblem has its own vertical line break.
Anyway. I'd leave it as is. I have friends who have changed the emblems on their Porsches like 35 times and it's always amusing to me what they come up with. Better? No. Different? Yes.

I de-baged mine upon arrival (before full PPF from Moe at GP). I love the clean look. I did the same on my 991.1 GTS. Here are before and after pictures. To me, the fewer black bits covering my PTS color, the better. If someone does not know that my car is a Porsche, I could care less. I consider myself lucky that I do not have a 992 Touring - de-badging is not an option anymore. You are now stuck with the plastic Porsche lettering inlayed into the bumper. It is good to have options!

The original owner of my car spec'd it with just "911" under P O R S C H E and I love how it looks. Wouldn't want it any other way.
i guess the more I think about it, debadging isn't really a big deal at all. You can spec it however you want from the build, so it's not like you're mucking with originality or anything.

Yeah this looks very clean, I'm going to do the same. I might lower the badging a bit versus where you placed CarreraT, but this looks on the money to me. I still come back thinking 991 P O R S C H E lettering dates the car a bit

I've debadged just about every car I've owned. Current 911 has PORSCHE only on the rear. Last one had 911 only. I'm not a fan of the blank bumper on 911s. Being a special edition I'd probably leave it the way it is.
Thats my opinion.
