Default 2013 911s 991.1 transmission fluid change

My 2013 991.1 has reached 31,000 miles and trying to decide whether to change transmission fluid as recommended in service manual or just ride it out another year or so. Currently the car runs great with no evidence of any problems.

I would like some thoughts on this from other members.

I believe it's a 12 year and or 120,000 mile cycle. should be ok.

...you really need to get out and drive more!

I have a 2013 C2S with 46,000 miles and plan on getting the transmission service done this fall. The dealer says its the most expensive service for the car . WoW can't wait to see what it will be . I will say i am not sure if it should be just drained and replace the fluids or change pan with filter ? I thought about having an INDY do this , but was worried if something went wrong and all of sudden the transmission developed a problem after the service , I would be up the creek with an INDY vs the dealer?

Pretty old car - I would shift to a reputable indie in a heartbeat vs the stealer. About half the price.

From the many stories, you’re probably better off with competent indie techs, too.

I have a 2013 C2S with 20,000 miles on it and thinking the same thing. Runs great so why fix it BUT......

Same year car, similar mileage here. I'm holding off a year or two years on the PDK fluid change.

2013 C2 with 31k here. I shopped around earlier this year to get it done. The dealership was actually slightly cheaper than our renown indie but the dealer couldn't tell me exactly what the service entailed. Both quoted $1100-$1300ish. I have a real problem paying someone that much to do what looks like a fairly standard transmission fluid change but given the unbelievable cost of failure I'll probably bite the bullet and have it done in January. My PDK can be a little clunky so I'm hopeful the fluid change cleans it up a bit.

With so few miles, one option to consider would be to a PDK fluid drain and fill (2.6L~3.0L of FFL3 at $25/L) without changing the filter/pan. It's a relatively easy DIY, so a good indy shop should have no problem. I had a Blackstone analysis done on the PDK fluid when I changed it at 113k, and there were no red flags (also zero visible contaminants).

FCP has the filter/pan for $530, so with dealer markup that's a big chunk of the cost:

Are those quotes for PDK or manual?

I would do it. I bought a 14S, with 18,700 miles. First service I did after taking delivery was PDK and diff service. Cost from reputable Porsche Indy was under $800 in June.

do it soonest per experts who have repaired these beyond the dealers ability. . Also change the differential fluid at same time. I have tech manual which calls for it to be changed ar same time.

for those others here which are delaying past 30k+ miles, be advised you are at risk with transmission senors . These can fail at around 40k . The dealer has no capability to replace the sensors and Porsche doesnt sell them. If anyone here has doubts, call a dealer 😎

after years and many discussions, only prevention to early PDK failures is changing fluids .
